Pinellas Trail now a danger to pedestrians
Jul 2021 • Solo
This trail used to be a joy to walk. Now its just dangerous. There are bikers, kids on rocket bikes, teens and adults on e bikes, never pedalling but going at street speeds , and there's no divide marking the side for feet only and wheels only. I am constantly getting a horn, a bell, or yelled at to move out of the way. Its actually gotten to be less of a nuisance to walk on the street than the trail.
Stay off the trail if you're on foot or run the risk of getting hurt.

Bike the trail every day
May 2021
The Pinellas Trail is a great resource for locals and visitors alike. A converted rail line, you can bicycle, walk or run for as short a distance or as long and you'd like. There are areas where it is pretty wide open with no stops and others, like downtown Dunedin, where it's more densely populated and you have to maneuver through the streets and the tourists frequently. The trail markings are pretty worn in some areas so people don't know "walkers to the right, cyclists to the left." Be prepared for serious cyclists on the trail and pedestrians, such as dog walkers and stroller groups who stretch across the trail that you will have to ask to clear the way for you. You will also see volunteer trail rangers cycling along if you have questions. Not all areas have access to amenities such as drinks or bathrooms. Some areas of the trail have water bottle filling stations and bicycle maintenance stations with tools to fix your bike, if needed. This trail is well used in areas so be prepared for crowds especially on weekends. We are thankful for the trail as a safe place for us to ride from the heavily traveled roads in Pinellas County.

A great place to walk or bike
May 2020
This trail is well over 20 miles long from St Petersburg to Honeymoon Island at least. The trail is set up for your safety so busy intersections are mainly avoided with overpasses and crossing signals.

Stretching through Pinellas County
Jan 2020
Pinellas Park is no exception - Pinellas Trail (close to 40 miles in total length), is good for runners, walkers, bikers - so it runs through this city, as well. It goes by Seminole, too. Then it winds up further north, all the way to Tarpon Springs. Long way.

The trail is well-marked, it mainly makes its way through residential neighborhoods, also comes close to the bay area. It all looked quite safe during the day-time, the day was warm and sunny, there were some walkers on the trail.

And we just drove by ...

The Pinellas trail is close to my home, I love riding my bike. Wide enough for walkers, skaters, bikers, great for family fun..plenty of places to stop and rest in the shade.

Recreational bike ride trail with brewery stops
Sep 2019 • Couples
The Pinellas trail is safe and fun to ride your bike, run, or walk. We rode from Seminole all the way to clearwater beach and back. You can take mini detours and grab a beer at one of the craft brewery on the way. Highly recommend!

30 plus miles of roller-blading biking walking. Couple of shady areas in st. pete, but plenty of other miles to enjoy.

Beauty and Nature
Mar 2019 • Friends
I was pleasantly surprised by the many beautiful sights along the
trail! Many shady trees and creeks and a person can walk, run, bike
and skate at one's own pace. Yes, there are a few sketchy area but
like everything else, common sense is needed!

Lots of different areas to ride, walk, skate. Some areas a little sketchy with bad neighborhoods but northern areas and Bay Pines are beautiful.

Walk, Bike or Run; it’s all good
Apr 2019 • Couples
An extensive trail across the county of Pinellas where people walk, bike or run and take in the fresh air and natural beauty of the environment. The trail is intermingled across the county so realize that vehicle traffic may be encountered when crossing roads. The drivers and the people on the trails need to have mutual respect for each other and consider safety as the highest priority. Most do.
