Overall the Dolphin cruise tonight was pleasant. We seen a lot of dolphins. What I was a little disappointed for, was a lack of customer service. We arrived at Zeke’s and the instructions said to meet at the wooden benches near the fish scale not later than 5:45pm (15 minutes before the cruise @ 6pm). Well, we were early (5:20pm) as I HATE being late. Well at 10 minutes before the cruise was supposed to depart, I called in a panick to ask where the boat was, and was told Captain Bart would be up shortly to get us to bring us back to the boat. With 5 minutes left before departure, thank God someone with a Zeke’s Marina shirt walked by, and I asked where the Dolphin Tale was? He pointed the way, and we, and another family whom we did not know, barely made it to the boat, as it parted right on time (6pm). After we were on the boat, I realized Capt Bart had walked around the fish-scale, but I never heard him call out for guests, or ask if there were people waiting to be brought back to the boat. I’m glad our family, and the other family of 7 made it, but when they did roll-call as we were pulling away from the dock, there was one family that didn’t make the boat. I’m wondering if it was the lack of Capt Bart not announcing himself near the fish scale, as he walked by our family, as well as another family, and never said a word. Another disappointment, was the cruise was advertised from 6pm to 8pm, and a couple dollars more than other cruises advertised for 1 1/2 hours. So, I thought we paid a little more, for a little more time, but we were back at 730pm. Lastly, other good reviews talked about a narrative talking about some of the homes and building along the tour being talked about. Celebrity homes, a little history of the area, etc.....nothing.....Both Capt and First Mate (husband and wife) were quiet. Not unfriendly, just quiet. Maybe because the seas were very busy and populated with a lot of boats, so they were concentrating on that, but I would have liked to hear about the area, and community, and history of this place. Still was a good time, as we seen a lot of dolphins, that’s why I gave it a 4 STAR rating.

Absolutely a wonderful dolphin tour. Captain Bart and his wife Tabby made sure everyone had a wonderful time. We were here for spring break and had a sunset cruise booked, weather took a turn being Spring and she called and rebooked us to a cruise for the same day just earlier so we could still have our cruise without canceling. Truly the extra mile for customer service. We saw many many dolphins and learned a little about the area as well. I am so glad to support a small business in the area that cares about what they do and to share the love of dolphins and the area with their guests. Couldn’t have asked for any more. Book Dolphin Tales and enjoy the cruise, you won’t be disappointed.

We always have a great time on the Dolphin Tales cruise. Captain Bart and Tabitha are great hosts and very knowledgeable of the area and always eager to share their knowledge with recommendations for the area. We have also been on the Blue Angel cruise with them several times and it is always very enjoyable to see the Blue Angels from the small island from where we watch. We think Dolphin Tales is the best!

Overall, the sunset cruise was actually a harbor cruise, but without any narration. DO NOT book a cruise after a rain storm. Apparently the dolphin don’t like the fresh water. The owner/operators did their best to find the dolphins and we did see a few, but we saw them from the beach without paying extra.
Reasons for the three star rating:
The reservation system has difficulties. You can call and book with them if you need to do so.
They don’t really check reservations until everyone is on board and it is somewhat haphazard.
The description of the tour includes an indication of commentary, but the only commentary is between the operators trying to decide where to turn the boat.
They did well with small children on board and interacted with them.
The website needs significant updating.
One more thing to note, you will be out on the bay side with around 4-6 other boats all looking for dolphins.

Highly recommend Dolphin Tales, Orange Beach, AL! Captain Bart was so nice, knowledgeable & skillful to find the dolphins. I saw more than 10 dolphins, including several dolphines chasing a boat pretty close to our boat. It was a unique and great experience. I will definitely chase dolphines with Captain Bart again!

We loved Tabitha and her husband. They did a great job hosting us on their boat. Even when my daughter was upset they were able to help me redirect and calm her. Thumbs up and the local knowledge was great. They also do a sunset cruise which you can bring your own drinks and snack at either day or evening cruise.

Great tour! It rained and we were worried that the tour would be cancelled but the staff watched the weather carefully and took us away from the bad weather. The dolphins were harder to find due to the weather but the staff never gave up and we eventually saw some beautiful dolphins. The staff never gave up and kept us on the water past our scheduled time to make sure we had some sightings and experience with the dolphins. I honestly enjoyed just cruising around while we waited for some sightings and the staff shared information on some of the homes and landmarks which was cool. We had our 3 young girls with us and they loved it as well. My husband said it was the best part of our vacation.

Thank you Miss Tabatha and Mr Bart for an experience that made great family memories. The day at the island was wonderful for all the kids and adults alike able to play, float, swim, dig castles, find hermit crabs, see dolphins and just enjoy the moment. The day was perfect!

The evening sunset boat ride was a great way to relax and end the day. Seeing the beautiful sites, dolphins, the sunset and it was perfect.

You all showed wonderful hospitality and professionalism and a warm Alabama welcome and we thank you for that.

We highly recommend this for family's of all ages!

Being from Minnesota, here in Florida for spring break, 3/11/2020, we were really hoping to see some dolphins closer than off our balcony far off into the ocean. We had booked this cruise once we had gotten to Florida, and had no problems. It was so affordable for the 5 of us! The boat was clean, comfortable and had plenty of seating for good viewing all around. Our captain and tour guide were kind, funny, and very knowledgeable. After having trolled around the back bay for about 45 min, we had seen no dolphins. Not wanting to disappoint the guests, our captain (and wife) messaged a friend who lived in another bay and who had been seeing the dolphins all week. We then went to that bay and boy did we get a show! There were at least 2 dolphins who swam all around our boat, eating and playing. I was so grateful that they cared enough to make sure we had gotten to see what we paid to see. I would most definitely book another cruise the next time we go to Florida.

Our group of 6 took the morning dolphin tour with Tabby and Bart. We had a fabulous experience on the tour and had plenty of opportunity to view a pod of dolphins for quite some time. The captain made sure both sides of the boat had ample opportunity for viewing and photo opportunities. The dolphin came close to the boat on both sides and we all were able to get a closer view (but of course the boat captain was very respectful to maintain distance and allowed the dolphin to approach the boat rather than trying to get too close to the dolphin). Our young children wore life vests during the boat ride as required but were given more opportunities to move around on the boat to get closer to see the dolphins, which they loved. After the dolphins moved on, we spent the remainder of our cruise touring around the bay and learning about the area. All in all, we had a great time, loved that the boat was comfortable with padded seats and shaded so we didn’t have to really worry about sunburn while cruising. Our only negative moment didn’t involve the staff of Dolphin Tales, but rather upon arrival at Zeke’s marina, we ran into the store to grab a quick snack and check in and the staff there was less than helpful in directing us exactly where to go. I didn’t book our tour, so I didn’t have the directions of where we were supposed to meet. It would have been nice if the staff in the store were more helpful, but I also realized after the fact that they were in no way associated with the company offering the tour. If you’re looking for a great dolphin tour and a more private and comfortable experience, Dolphin Tales is the way to go! They definitely exceeded my expectations for a fun dolphin tour!
