It's okay in a pinch but it was crowded and there were stinging ants and sand fleas. Cigarette butts and trash are a common occurrence as well. It might have been a nice place in the past but not so much anymore. I think the ants are caused by people leaving food and trash on the beach. I wish we would have driven a bit and gone to Pensacola Beach.

The place is not overdeveloped yet, but it's heading that way. There are roughly two good restaurants in this area. The rest are tourist traps. Without the beach, though, it's a wasted trip. And it's hard to schedule around a weeklong rip tide.

This place is heading the wrong direction. Development and all that means pretty soon, only the super rich will be able to enjoy this place

Perdido Key is a gem of a barrier island with white-sand beaches & dunes. We found free public parking across the street from a beach public access walkway. The crystal-clear water, sugar soft sand and wide clean beach is delightful! Not sure how I’ve missed this on all my trips to FL.

Absolutely beautiful! Well maintained, no trash, no crowds, white sand and breathtaking views. We visited several beaches in the area and none of them came close to comparing. In fact we planned to spend an entire day at another beach and left to return to this one. This is by far the best beach! We will be coming here from now on!
Honor system paved parking, bring exact $3 cash to receive parking ticket. Parking ticket will need to be placed on rear view mirror - they do come out and check for them. There is also pavilions, restrooms and outdoor showers.
We also found sand dollars and large shells here!

If you need a quiet place to get away with the kids, plan a trip here. You can fish and enjoy a basically private beach. We watch the Blue Angels practice from here. It was a perfect spot! Clean bathrooms. too. It cost $15 for our car load/family, but this also included admission to two other parks for 7 days. Well worth it.

You just can't go wrong visiting a state park in Florida. Especially those along the beach in the Panhandle, the while sandy beaches are simply mesmerizing! People living here are so lucky!

This park is located on Perdido Key and covers a large water front area of the Gulf of Mexico. Along with the emerald green waters and beautiful white sand it is an exceptional place to visit while in the area. Summertime is great for swimming and with a little bit of warmness in the air yesterday some children were playing in the edge of the water.
With high winds yesterday there were several wet suit clothed riders out with their boards doing some surfing.
The fee to enter is minimal and very well worth the expense to visit.

Quiet little park along the beach in Fla. panhandle. Not much there. Nice white sand but doesn't compare to Gulf Island Natl. Seashore in Pensacola. Perdido is cheap though and uncrowded. ($3.00) It's only about 20 minutes to Lamberts in Foley. Gotta go to Lamberts.

This coastal area is truly so amicably called the Redneck Riviera for a reason.Amazing white sugar sand dunes and sometimes turtles are laying eggs here. Located minutes from the famous FloraBama bar which sits on the Florida Alabama State Line occupying space on both states lines connecting Florida to to 4 miles of Orange Beach Alabama, and then on to Gulf Shores Alabama and and Mobile Bay.

Where is the best beach in the a perdido key/ orange beach area for finding seashells ?
Written March 29, 2018
They are all good after a heavy surf or a passing storm on any of the beaches on Perdido Key.

Best place in Pensacola for seashells?

I’d go early in the morning. When is more important than where. Look around puddles of water, near any beach. We found them in front of our condo, but also in the state park.

Hi,
My house is just across the Perdido Key park. Besides you have beautiful white Sandy beaches and turquoise waters, yes you can snorkel or dive. Of course like any area of the gulf you have to be aware of jellyfish in the winter, but the area will notify by the flags on the beach if you see purple flags that means the possibility of those creatures. T h e sunset are amazing and if you like to fish, you can buy a one day fishing license and fish grouper, red fish, etc, with exception of snapper that they are not in season until April or May. Hope you come and enjoy the area, is a well kept secret and not as expensive or overpopulated like Destin or Panama City.
