Visitor center older lady volunteers not so helpful - refused to make change even if we bought something in the gift shop. Which leads to the next warning - if you'd like to fish from the old bridge, be sure to bring $5 per car and $2 per person who wants to fish. There is a check-point where you're asked to pay these fees with a box on the ground with envelopes which you're suppose to pay for your car & fishing fees and put into a slot. They only take checks or cash and as stated previously, the welcome station is unwilling to make change and you must drive 2 miles to get cash/change. Wish we would have known this before arriving as it cost us an extra 30-40 minutes to rectify the situation. Once fishing, it was an awesome time and place to soak in the bay fresh air and we caught many fish. It did get a bit crowded as the afternoon went on - I assume it must be very popular for night-time fishing.

The visitor center is wide open, colorful, and has a nice view of the bay. The lady at the desk was extremely helpful and spent a lot of time circling places on a map for us. Even if you have kids with you, they will be able to entertain themselves by working on a jigsaw puzzle, playing checkers, or building something using magnets. I thought this was a great thing to keep the kids busy.

I recommend everyone go here when you first arrive in Pensacola. There is so much information and the staff are very helpful. I also recommend people sign up for the Hop-On Hop-Off tour. It’s only a little more than an hour but you really get a lay of the land. The Visitor Center is one of the pick up spots.

We drove around in circles and around again, couldn't find the place. There are blue signs on the highway, then none.

We had a bit of a time getting there when you are coming from one of the directions, but well worth it. The lady at the desk was very helpful. The center was neat and clean, well organized. I used the restroom and was very impressed with looks, supplies, etc. They had a puzzle out for visitors to spend a few moments piecing together. Since we were on a free-as-you-go with no plans for the day, we put a piece of the puzzle together. And another piece. And another piece. And next thing you know, we had been there two hours and completed the puzzle.
