The whitest beaches you will ever see and the beaches are well kept and clean. There is also a lot of history! Fort Pickens is great to tour and there are WWII sites also to explore.

It's a little drive to get out to opal beach, but it is really worth it. They have great shower facilities, picnic areas, restrooms, white sand and clear waters. When the water is calm you can do some decent snorkeling. Great visit for the family.

I come to the Ft. Pickens area to scuba dive, but Langdon, Johns, and Opal beaches are nice, and there is considerable birdlife. I saw a gree sea turtle on my last trip there a couple of weeks ago..

We went to the beach around 7:00 and we had a nice empty spot to ourselves with our friends. It was beautiful seeing the sun go down in the west.

The Gulf Islands Seashore is a national treasure! I consider it the best beach anywhere in America. There are miles of sand dunes and soft, fine sand. Wear sun glasses or the glare from all that white sand will dazzle you for hours. There is...More

Yes, most of the time. If water is rough enough you can't see, don't go on because it's dangerous.
