We're from the Orlando area. Pensacola beach is nice, but in our opinion, we like Sarasota's white sugar beach better. Pensacola was very crowded & loud. The area is also not as pretty as Sarasota. The one unique thing to this area is the Air Force Museum. We got to see the Blue Angels practice. Entry is free!

Unlike most places along the Gulf Coast where we have single barrier islands, Pensacola is blessed with two barrier islands. From Pensacola, you take a long bridge out to the first island. In fact, before you get to the bridge coming from the West, there is a sign that warns "Long bridge, check your gas." I immediately checked my gas... More

I never really wanted to visit Florida, but ended up there because that was the only place we could find a hotel vacancy. I am really glad that I went. Now I can't wait to go back!
