I have been told that a number of covid cases have been linked to indoor events at the Pensacola Saenger. Neither the Saenger nor Ticketmaster would address this concern for out of state ticket buyers. If they will not Follow national health and safety guidelines regarding large indoor events, they should be willing to work with customers that no longer feel comfortable attending such events.

I attended an America concert at the Saenger in Pensacola on July 30, 2023. I had second row seats center stage. I was unaware the theater had a no video or audio recording policy. I’ve recently attended three concerts at the Saenger Theater in Mobile and took many photos and videos. There wasn’t a problem doing so. Anyhow, I was taking a photo of the band at the America concert when someone behind me started poking me hard with their fingers on my shoulder repeatedly. I looked over my shoulder and this lady, probably a volunteer, had this hostile look on her face and told me to stop taking pictures and to turn off my phone. Her tone of voice matched the look on her face. I complied and didn’t say anything back to her. Throughout the concert people around me were taking video and photos with no consequences from the volunteer. The volunteer needs training with customer relations. There was no need to come across heavy-handed and hostile. She could simply have approached me from the front and told me there was a no audio or video recording policy at the theater. She definitely shouldn’t have but her hands on me.

The show and the theater were amazing. Problem was the staff who was horribly rude to three generations of our family. Rodger was beyond rude when the show designers told the audience to stand and we were standing at the back of the theater behind all the seats and people in the front row were also standing. He informed us if we did not go to our seats in the middle of the theater in front of lots of people and stand there we would be escorted out. I apologize for not wanting to stand, even though it was encouraged, in front of half the theater. Dirty dancing live was meant for guests to stand and dance. I’m sorry Roger disagreed.

I was given tickets to The Waitress. The play was super good. The acoustics are great, the seats are not very elevated so a tall person in front of you makes it hard to see, it can take a while to exit after the show is over, and the drinks and candy are a bit expensive for what you get. This year the shows are a pretty good. They are not all about the same thing like last year.

we went to Saenger Theater at the last minute after purchasing tickets one hour before the show on New Year's Eve. Good seating with excellent views.. Pensacola is fortunate to have such a good symphony. beautifully restored theater, handicapped seating was created by a fixed barrier, it would have served the theater more effectively if the barrier was removable when no one using the space, so others could have better movement around the theater.

Enjoyed the concert. It was just Travis with no backup. We learned a lot about him and his life. A good 2 hr show. Only drawback was the smallness of the theatre and no break so people were constantly getting up.

The show was great. The theatre is beautiful. The staff are so helpful. We have been here several times and always have a great time. Parking is easy and we always come early and eat walking distance away. Only drawback, they can’t read your tickets from your phone. Bring your tickets printed out. You can go to Customer Service and they can look up your tickets. It will be a bit of a wait for this.

Thank you for your glowing review. We love to hear when people are pleased with our facilities and our staff. We do scan tickets on the phone. I checked with the Box Office Manager and she said the only time that we can't scan tickets is if you don't have the Ticketmaster app. Nevertheless, we are going to do some re-training to ensure everyone knows how to scan tickets from a phone.

The last few shows that I have been to have been spoiled by long lines at concession stands and a lack of adequate air conditioning. Ushers aren much help when approached about the issues. I believe I will start taking my family either to the little theater or to Mobile’s Saenger.

We have seen multiple shows at this theatre, the last two being rock concerts. In the past we have sat in the orchestra and were perfectly comfortable. The last two times we sat in the balcony and found our knees up against the seat in front of us and no possibility of stretching out. The sound system has always been excellent and for the most part you can see well from any seat. Staff always friendly. Will continue to patronize but may miss an event if my only choice is balcony seating.

I much appreciate the history, architecture, preservation, special classic movie showings and unbelievably low pricing ($5 Adult ticket for a classic color movie...wow!, Thanks) of the Saenger Theatre. That said and this venue recommended, beware: the seats are not "staggered", at least in the center/center section, and this floor section is level-horizontal. I.E., if you sit behind someone, or they enter seating in front of you after you are seated, you will not, repeat not, see the movie!!! If you like 1.5 hours of close head-back contemplation while listening to a movie soundtrack, enjoy. Otherwise, be sure to sit to one of the far sides and/or in a front-third theater floor seating. (The back third main sloped floor view is marred by the low balcony ceiling.)

What area would be the best seating for the Pink Floyd laser light show?
Written February 1, 2020
About rows K- M on the floor would be the best

What seats were you in that you felt were too close?
Written February 22, 2018
I can't remember the exact section but I was on the balcony. The theatre is laid out really well where you have a good seat pretty much anywhere in there.
Written February 26, 2018
What are the size of the seats? Are they the size of a seat on an Airplane in Coach or more like a Movie Theater seat like at The Rave?
Written December 26, 2017
The seats range in size from 17" to 22". There are some seats where the arm raises up for wheelchair transfer. You would need to contact the box office about those seats.
The seats in the balcony have less leg room than the floor because of the rise and run of the stairs. The most leg room in on Row L and Row V on the right side of the theatre downstairs.
