This course is literally a cow pasture. You are playing g off pig slop there right now, weeds everywhere including the sand traps, the greens and apron of greens. The Green’s are burnt out. Cart paths have pot holes everywhere. Cart path only. We had mud up to our knees and soaking wet shoes and socks. Impossible to play on. We play all around the Venice (where we live every Sunday) area on the Big Summer golf card. We could only play 9 it was so bad, went in to get a refund on the back9, it will take a year or better to get this course back in condition, he would only give us a rain heck that expires at the End of October, no way and adamant about not giving us a refund. A new owner is coming in tomorrow, I don’t know what the plans are for this course but it needs to be shut-down until it is playable, they have their work cut out for them. They need to inform the public about the condition before making tee times right now. Don’t waste your time, if I could give it a Zero I would. …

We are medium handicap golfers and enjoyed the course. The fairways were in good shape, although greens had recently been aerated. Stopped in the very nice pro shop after. Will definitely play this course again.

River Wilderness is one of the best golf courses in the Tampa Bay area. The course is in excellent condition. We also enjoy the tennis, pickleball, fitness center and the social activities at the club. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
