We have been coming to the outpost to fish. They have a really nice pond, maybe 2 acres. We have caught a nice variety of fish. For 6 months we have enjoyed their pond. Two days ago we got there about 5-10 minutes to 5. All this time we have arrived anywhere from 4pm-4:45. Fish don’t start biting until 5. The woman working outside said we close in 10 minutes. I walked past her thinking someone else was inside. She followed me in and said we couldn’t fish, they close at 5.I told her we’ve been doing it for quite awhile. There was an older man inside that works there that said, yeah, I’ve seen them a lot. So she sold me the 2 day passes, $4.28. The next day a young blond girl sold me 2 day passes at 4:50 pm. About 5:45 we heard people talking then the guy that said we could was there asking if we were camping there, he knew we were not. Told us we had to leave, it closed at 5. I objected, then he relates the details of the day before. He said “you walked right past my wife”. I figured she must have given him holy hell when he said we could fish so now he had to mend it with her! WE WILL NEVER GO TO FISHEATING CREEK OUTPOST AGAIN!

I have been taking my family here for two years in a row now and can say that this is a great place to take a family camping. The tent sites by the creek are very nice and they all have fire rings and plenty of space to set up in. They also have kayaking and canoeing options and we enjoyed doing both. Plus the staff is super-friendly and go out of their way to help out in any way that they can. Great place to go and spend quality time with the family, if even for just a weekend.

We spent 4 nights here with an RV Camping Group. The park was clean, the staff responsive. The only downside were troops of Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts there Friday and Saturday nights. The men's room was vandalized, Saturday night, presumably by some scouts. I went in at 9:40 at night and there were 3-4 young kids in there laughing because the handicapped toilet had been plugged and flushed until it over flowed, the toilet next to it had the flushing mechanism broke so the toilet was running all the time. The next 2 had a dark 'poo' looking brown substance smeared on the toilet seats and the floor was covered in what I can only hope was water. I called the night number and they responded and had the place cleaned up in just over an hour. 2 of the 4 youngsters in there were wearing scouting apparel. One appeared a little older, about 5'7", 120lbs, with blondish hair and braces. He was laughing a lot about what had been done to the room.

A nice clean park. It was a half-way for friends to meet for kayaking. A lovely park that also has camping and RV spots. Staff was friendly and accomodating.

Favorite south Florida campground. We love to tent camp and there are several favorite spots for us. Tons of fishing. Great kayaking among the gators. Swimming hole with rope swing. My girls slept overnight in hammocks. Some holiday weekends they have crafts and karaoke. Fills up quick. Make reservations as soon as you can. Even decent camping for scouting groups. For sale: wood, worms, ice. Walmart nearby. Good place to bring bikes.
