Fabulous small museum with a big heart
Nov 2019
Three of us went on Thanksgiving Friday and were caught up in the Christmas decorating frenzy. Even with a dozen volunteers, we got personal service and a friendly guided tour. A recent grant from the Smithsonian Museum funded an amazing “The Way We Work” storyboard set. Very impressive artifacts and stories of the people who founded Palm Harbor. Lots of citrus industry artifacts, including an authentic cypress ladder. I absolutely enjoy learning about the places I visit, and this little museum inspired and educated. We learned about Crystal Beach and the Faith Mission, and went there, too! Suggested donation of $3 was a small price for a large bit of history.

Interesting Place!

I went here as a research project for an article I was writing and was pleasantly surprised at all the local history gathered in basically three rooms.

The day I went, the staff was preparing for an annual event, but they still were very accommodating in telling me what they were about which is basically the settling of Palm Harbor and its early pioneers dating back to the late 1900's.

The rooms all have a different theme. I especially enjoyed the Civil War room.

If you're new to the area or just want to check out something different to see, I would definitely recommend a visit here.

The wonderful thing about this museum is that it is easy to find since it is right on a main road! Also, on the weekends they have sales of fruits, vegetables, and other things like honey. The staff at the Museum is very kind and patient, and the museum, those small, is full of wonderful history for the area. Also, they keep adding more things to the museum. A great place for a Sunday afternoon!

A little piece of Palm Harbor history. Quite small, a quaint place to visit en route to another venue. They recently got grant $ to improve their facilities. Jury is out.....

This museum houses many important things about this community. There is a lovely tea in the Spring to raise money for the museum efforts.

Pretty good--for a small museum!

We enjoyed the Museum, which has many photographs and related narratives on the history of Palm Harbor. I believe it is a fairly new museum, so there's not a lot, but well worth a visit while in the Palm Harbor area. Interesting to see the historical role of Palm Harbor in the growing and processing of oranges years ago.

Don't get too excited

Nice but not mind boggling. Not much there - just a local place to waste 15 minutes if you have nothing else to do.

Struggling to find a place in local history to highlight the ornge industry that preceded tourism for Pinellas County. A quick step back in time to visit here....turn of the 19/20th century. Helpful staff. New plantings.
