Beware of expensive hidden charges! Overpriced and overrated!
Jul 2018 • Business
They placed me in a room when my room wasn’t available and without informing me, charged me an upgraded room rate at checkout. They also charged me for a bungalow (which I did not get) at checkout. I disputed those charges (which took 45 mins) and was completely paid up. 5 days later my card was charged (unauthorized) for the bungalow. Come to find out it was the charge for our two couple friends who came to meet us for lunch. They charged us $50 a person. They were there for about 2 hours and we paid an extra $200 plus tax. Not including the couple of hundred dollars we spent at the bar and grill. I’m not ok with the unexpected unauthorized charge after checkout. It was their mistake and they should have absorbed that cost or at least called me. None of that happened. Poor, poor customer service! There are too many other beautiful places in Palm Beach to stay. Go SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Your wallet will be thankful!

Fantastic Spa.. gorgeous facilities
Feb 2018 • Solo
From state of the art facials to amazing massage therapies, this beautifully re designed spa facility is exceptional. The physical plant is ultra luxe... avail your self of the beautiful cloistered outside relaxation area with its long shallow wading depth pool, while sipping on a flavored water, fresh strawberries, or healthy munchies. Men’s changing area is attended, features steam and sauna, plus every toiletry you’ll need. Big screen TVs in the locker adjacent lounging area and huge leather club/lounge chairs. The staff are extremely pleasant and professional ...you’ll be pampered from start to finish. Nail services are excellent as well. Not cheap, but well worth the indulgence.

A bit disappointed
May 2017 • Business
The Breakers is a top notch hotel in Palm Beach, so my expectation was high for their spa. I had a 50 minute massage, which starts at about $150. The spa itself is nice and the staff is friendly, but what was disappointing was the lack of experience of my massage therapist. If you are getting a massage for the first time in your life, it is fine. But if you have had massages before, you can differentiate when your massage therapist only has the very basic skills and knowledge. It seemed like she had only attended a six-month course and lacked experience. In my opinion, if you are willing to pay the prices at such a nice spa, you should at least get a massage therapists that is more skilled.

Spa gift certificate
May 2017 • Solo
I live locally and was gifted with a spa gift certificate for my birthday. Beautiful spa but I felt service was lacking. The actual services were good but the desk and spa attendants were lack luster. I was the only client in the outdoor courtyard and had to go track down someone to order lunch. Beautiful facility and wonderful food but service was below average.

Girlfriends Spa Day
Apr 2017 • Friends
Once a year my girlfriend and I do an all out spa day! Normally we do the Eau in Manalapan, this year we switched it up and tried the Spa at the Breakers. We heard they had a major renovation a few years ago so why not!
The reception was quick and friendly, we had reserved the suite for the morning for a massage and a facial, both long treatments customized for us. Both the facial and massage were amazing, BUT the ambiance is lacking. You are hustled from the suite to the waiting area in between treatments, WHAT, I want to stay in the suite, LOL. The suite faces the ocean, but you cant open the shades because everyone will see you that is relaxing in the common area courtyard, so you are virtually in a big room with big windows but cant open the shades, big bummer. The spa does not have a whirlpool or sauna, WHAT? I thought it was a spa. I liked the spa, the people were friendly but for luxury spend the money at the Eau now that's a spa!

Very Disappointing
Jan 2017 • Friends
Several of us stayed at The Breakers and booked services at The Spa. In the past, we have visited spas around the world and were looking forward to some relaxation time.

When I checked in, I found the young lady at the desk to be cordial. She had another young lady take me to the changing room where I was given a robe, sandals, and a locker. I was shown where extra supplies were and where the steam room and showers were.

I walked out to the relaxation room where I found my friends seated on one of the two long sofas. On one side of the room, was a counter and freezer with drinks, gelato, nuts, and fruit. There was a double door leading out to a small seating area around a shallow pool. It was too cool and windy to sit there.

I noticed a few troubling things at this spa. There were a few books but no magazines to read while waiting. There were four doors located in the "relaxation room." People constantly walked through the area either calling for clients or walking outside or to the dressing area. It was also coed. I was not aware of this when the appointment was booked. I had to sit in the area with my robe on while men entered and sat nearby.

At one point, there was only one other lady in the room with me. She was waiting for her massage. When an attendant walked into the room calling for another person for the fourth or fifth time, the lady asked when she would be taken as it was already 10 minutes past her appointment.

The attendant said she would check. A few attendants walked from door to door through the relaxation room trying to find out what was supposed to be happening. The lady was told they were contacting the manager who came out to speak with the woman. No apology was made and voices were raised. She was finally taken to her appointment 15 minutes late.

All of the above happened in the relaxation room in front of me. I was feeling tense before being called for my appointment. My facial lasted 45 minutes and was well done. After it, I returned to the relaxation room to meet with my friends as they finished their services.

A slice of paradise

Checked in slipped into a new cozy robe relaxed at outside area with water sounds from reflection pool in background. Had Quartz massage which in a quartz crystal headed bed. Shawn was terrific! very relaxing and soothing. One of the best part was a bit of inversions and a head & neck massage. Herb tea, Decided to have a facial and this was so cleansing and the facial massage was stimulating. Then after hot shower with great products and my skin, hair all felt terrific. Planning my return trip

Anticipation to Disappointment
Jun 2016 • Friends
Having been a periodic day guest of the spa for a number of years, I was excited to return to experience its 8 million dollar renovation. Let me first say that I received a wonderful, relaxing massage from Gladys. She and the staff were polite, friendly and attentive. In years past, if a day guest visited the spa, the exercise room, pools, beach and poolside restaurant were available.
When I made my reservation, I asked whether those amenities were still in place. They are not. One is restricted to the spa, and a small, outdoor area with a shallow rectangular pool where the only activity is to sit on the edge and put your feet in the water. There is an outdoor seating area as well. The decor, although modern and sophisticated, for me, did not provide the "after spa" relaxation...in the co-ed lounge, there were 2 white, sectional sofas, neither of which allowed a guest to view the walled, water feature. There were no ottomans in either lounge which would provide an opportunity to elevate one's legs after the massage, Now there is only one dressing room in which to change clothing. I was told that I would be called by the therapist from the co-ed lounge for my massage. Thankfully, there were no males when I was there, because the last thing I want to do is wait dressed in nothing but a robe around strangers of the opposite sex. It is hoped that The Breakers will change its policy and offer the amenities to day spa guests which were in place previously. My recent experience was very disappointing.

A surprise birthday gift for my wife.
Apr 2016 • Couples
BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! Those were her words after her hours at the spa. The Breakers is a favorite of mine from my younger days and I wanted my wife to be pampered by a place that is the best for so many things. I and she was not let down. The hotel itself is wonderful. I had been to their Sunday Brunch, years ago, the best, none better.
