Turkey Creek Sanctuary was an easy hike for my whole family. We enjoyed all of the beautiful trees and nature around an awesome boardwalk. The park was well maintained and had plenty of areas to sit and enjoy nature. There is also a gopher tortoise burrowing site at the park. I highly recommend this place for people of all ages.

This trail is a great place for pictures and wildlife. We did all of the trails (except the jogging path) and was there about an hour or more. There is plenty of free parking in front of the library and across the street. There are a couple of sandy trails that are a little closer to the road noise and not as impressive. Most of the trails are on a nice raised shaded boardwalk, with a small portion closed on the day we were there, as they were replacing some boards. If you are short on time, head toward the water, where you will see lots of turtles, fish, possibly an alligator or manatee. We spotted one log with probably close to a dozen turtles on it. Beware of the raccoons, as they are a little aggressive and will possibly steal things from your bags or if you set things down on the boardwalk. Large signs stating not to feed the wildlife posted along the trails. We also spotted gopher tortoises, many birds and butterflies. We did witness some people in kayaks that day have a mother and baby manatee swim right under them. A memorable experience for them, I'm sure. There is a nice visitor center, with maps and lots of educational materials.

Great trails and a lot of beautiful foliage. Good for a walk or there are trails off the boardwalk areas for jogging. Lots of wildlife to see also.

I followed my GPS to Turkey Creek and couldn't believe where it was taking me! I thought something was wrong. But alas, my GPS took me to one of those rare, tiny patches of "preserved" space for native wildlife and species. It is a lovely spot but kind of a very sad tribute to the Florida that "should be"... it is a stark reminder of what the land "wants to be" surrounded by what is encrouching all around it... Kind of a "we need to do better" moment..didn't know if this was a 1 or a 5 but good on them for preserving a bit of it.

This is a wonderful place to see native vegetation and spot some Manatees and Alligators in the Turkey Creek. Team at the visitor centre were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Everyone should enjoy this well maintained nature reserve.
