This trail starts at Barr St Trailhead in the Little Big Econ State Forest and is part of the Trailwalker Program. It is a 5.2 mile loop trail that follows the Florida Trail along the Econlockhatchee River and then loops back. The vistas overlooking the river are spectacular! Trail is nicely blazed and well maintained. This trailhead is very busy, especially on weekends. Come early. There are no amenities here so pack in what you need and don't forget to pack out. Let's keep Florida beautiful. Admission is $2 per car and you pay via Iron Ranger (exact change). The loop took about 2 hours to complete but I take a lot of photos. It's hard not to when you're surrounded by so much beauty. Worth a visit just for the serenity.
Highly recommended!
You can also take the Florida Trail south from this trailhead. This trail follows the Econlockhatchee River for another 2-3 miles and there's even a waterfall. Not very common in Florida.

My family loves walking the trails here. Good place to see alligators in the wild!! Lots of trails.... cross the old train trellis into the Snowhill side and even more for mountain biking, etc. Cross CR426 and it takes you north into the hammock.

Very nice trails along the Econ river. Pretty forest and cool wild life. This is a great hiking spot for family's and some good fishing too if you know where to fish.

This park is easily accessible but quite nice. We saw a lot of wildlife while hiking on the trails that were well marked and easy to follow. The trail meanders near the river so you keep getting good views of the river repeatedly. There are some benches for resting as well. We saw some people fishing and you can camp there as well. It is a nice relaxing place to hike, walk the dog, or sit and enjoy nature. It's free.
