RIP OFF
Apr 2021
purchased the ritual mani/pedi. What a huge disappointment! A total waste of money and to top it off I HAD to pay 20% ($28.00) for gratuity. Funny how its automatically included under service charge. I always spend too much on vacation and never think twice but the service was so lacking that this one makes me pretty upset. I had to go to the walgreens just to get polish remover to get the terrible job off my nails. I mean a waste of $140 for mani/pedi and $28.00 for forced tip. They should be ashamed of themselves for calling what I paid for a spa experience. I've received better mani/pedi from the quickie place at the mall.

Huge disappointment
Oct 2019 • Solo
I had a treatment in October of 2019. Maybe it’s become better but I would not even consider wasting the time to try it again. This spa is outdated and in disrepair, sheets are cheap and rough and therapist was awful - just would not stop talking. I had high expectations considering the brand - Mandara - and the warm inviting scent as I booked the massage. The spa area smelled unpleasantly. Huge disappointment. I spent more on my treatment here than anywhere else in my life - including the Ritz, Montage and Grand Wailea (all on Maui) and even Breton Woods. My therapist talked about his negative experiences while working for another chain where monthly membership fees gets you massages (don’t want to mention the brand since I am actually a member and LOVE LOVE LOVE my therapist!). He did not dim the lights before or after the service and the consultation was maybe half a minute in total; worse yet he smelled of cigarettes! Overall I would have preferred sitting in my room enjoying a cup of tea to relax over the time, money and effort spent at the spa.

Gorgeous spa
May 2019
This spa is the epitome of laidback luxury, with gorgeous, comfortable decorations and an attentive staff. We came here for massages and pedicures, and our experience was fantastic from start to finish. We had warm, fluffy robes and orange juice, and the guest waiting room was serene. The masseuse worked out the difficult knots in my back, and my feet were walking on heaven after the pedicure.

Great service
Jan 2020 • Couples
Y’all, my wife and I had the greatest experience at the Mandara Spa this weekend. We made an appointment for 11 am because we thought we’d sleep in more, of course that never happened. We got to the spa early and they were so nice about it. We were brought right back to change into robe and were told we could use the hot tub and the sauna and steam room. They showed us where we could get water and make tea and some trail mix. We waited for our masseuse to get us before using anything. These guys were great! Sean and Christopher were so nice and so welcoming. I think they knew we don’t do this often so they were very kind is letting us know what to do and then what they were doing as well. Christopher has to keep reminding my wife to relax, which was funny because I have to do the same thing. After we were done and got our robes back on they got us some water l, reminded us to drink more water today and told us that we could use the hot tub for the rest of the day until they closed at 8! They also said we could leave and come back so long as we let them know we were here. They also told us that dry heat is the best and to use the sauna. They double checked we had water and reminded us again to drink more and we were free to do as we please. After a quick dip in the hot tub and a nice steam in the sauna we decided it was time to go take a nap in our room. Dolsie was awesome when checking us out. She even helped after we had finished checking out to add an additional tip after we had already cashed out, we wanted to tip more for the great service. Honestly one of the best experiences ever. From check in to check out everyone was friendly and helpful and we will for sure be returning.

Mandara Foot Ritual
Oct 2019 • Friends
Very disappointed in my pedicure at the Mandara Spa. My friend and I decided to get pedicures on our vacation at Universal and were very excited to start off our trip with an "indulgent foot ritual". Both my friend and I work at a day spa in our home town and love to experience other spas when we travel. We stayed at the Lowes Portofino so we decided to give the spa a try. When we arrived the spa concierge was very nice and attentive, after we filled out our in-take forms she took us back to the locker room where we put on robes. One of the technicians came to greet us and show where to make our polish sections. They carried OPI but didn't have a large assortment to choose from, made worse by the location the polish shelves( in a corner between two big chairs with no lighting to clearly distinguish different colors). After choosing our colors we were lead to the pedicure room, there were 6 pedi stations, 3 on each side facing eeach other. The chair were OK, the remote for the massage wasn't in good shape. One of the first things I noticed when entering the pedi area was its unorganized and dilapidated state. Most of the technician chair's backs were broken, some of the tile grout missing, extension cords everywhere and dirty fans. The actual pedi was less then ideal, the polish uneven and there wasn't anything "indulgent" or "decadent" about it. I hoping for a relaxing 60 minutes with a great lower leg/foot massage. What I recieved was a 45 minute basic pedicure with only a thin bamboo rod rolled over my legs and bottoms of my feet. After the service was completed we were ushered out to dry. While drying we could see the technicians pack their stuff, grab their handbags and were clearly waiting for us to leave (the spa was open until 8pm and we were done by 7). Not worth the $80 per pedicure and the automatic 20% service charge, for a service provider who was at best sub par and putting in no effort into guest experience.

Wow!!

I cannot say enough about the Mandara Spa at Portofino Bay! I had an 80 minute massage yesterday and it was incredible! From the moment I walked in the door where I was warmly greeted and checked in by the sweetest lady (I didn’t get her name) until I walked out the door- I had a fabulous experience. I highly recommend Jasmine! She was PHENOMENAL!!! She worked out the knots in my shoulders and put me to sleep at the same time!

Great Break between Parks!
Oct 2019 • Friends
My friend and I are staying at the Portofino and spent the day in the parks. So after 10+miles of walking I booked a spa day at the spa in the hotel, Mandara Spa. It was exactly what I needed! I had a massage with Christopher and he was amazing. He made me feel comfortable and my muscles felt ready for another day in the park after that! Next I had a facial with Paula and it was clear she was a skincare professional! The treatment was relaxing and wonderful and my skin glowed when I left. The entire front staff was welcoming and attentive. Serena did a great job showing me around the spa and checkout was easy and as expected. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to come back on my next visit to Orlando!

Outstanding Customer Service
Sep 2019
My best friends booked a spa day for my birthday. Gabbie & her team at the Mandara Spa were amazing! Our massage therapists were outstanding. We all agreed it was the best massage we had ever had. The facility was beautiful and spotless. We were treated to champagne and a special birthday cupcake surprise at the end of our services. I would highly recommend this spa.

Couples Massage for Honeymoon
Sep 2019 • Couples
Booked this as a treat for me and my wife to get a couples massage during our stay at the hard rock hotel just across the road.

It was a great experience and would highly recommend. We also got a glass of complementary champagne each as it was our honeymoon.

The only bad thing was the Jacuzzi was not hot or even warm. It was quite cold so we didn’t use it during our stay.

Great place to relax and be pampered
Jul 2019
Recommend the couples massage. They make sure that you leave relaxed. Facilities are nice and the co-ed whirlpool is great. Looking forward to our next stay.
