About
The Orlando Watersports Complex is a unique watersports park designed for wakeboarding, wakeskating, wakesurfing, kneeboarding and waterskiing. Since 1999, OWC has established itself as the best place to learn how to wakeboard. OWC is set up with two full size cable systems, a two-tower system and a boat lake. The two-tower system is great for teaching new riders the basics while our beginner full size cable provides them the tools to create a solid wakeboarding foundation. For the advanced riders, there is the advanced cable, which offers experienced riders many different advanced features.

This place is awesome, smacked my face into the water quite a few times but it was still so fun lol! Water tubing is AMAZING. Brandon was so cool, played the perfect music to set the mood, was super attentive. We fell in the water a lot and he was on it each time, was constantly looking back to ensure our safety. If you want to go fast and fly up in the air lol ask for him. Will be back :)

I stopped in to OWC during my 5 hour layover, as an alternative to sitting at the airport. I wanted to enjoy Florida with the little time I had and couldn’t have had a better time! They got me set up quickly, yummy bite at the snack bar, and gave me tips since this was my first time at a cable park- I got up first try! The are even outlets I was able to charge my phone while I rode so I would be all set when returning to the airport. The staff was prompt, friendly and really made my layover in Florida a vacation of its own!

We had a fantastic time here doing water sports! Great facilities and staff and the lesson was amazing for the wakeboarding. Great snacks available too.

Only niggle is some advice on the cable would be nice as we did not improve at all on the cable as we did not know what we were doing wrong.

Just a heads up... an hour cable lesson includes about 45 minutes spent just getting out of the water, walking back to the start, and waiting to get back on the cable every time you fall. The instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful; however, he hadn't seen our online registration listing the tricks my son requested to learn. My son felt like he didn't really learn much he didn't already know. A little disappointing for $89.

My son enjoyed practicing during the next 4 hours, despite frequently waiting in line at least 30 minutes to get back on a cable. The cables also had to be untangled or something 3 or 4 times, with an employee climbing to the top to fix, which delayed things about 10 minutes each occurrence. When lightning appeared, there was no audible alarm. The staff shut down the cables, but there was no announcement regarding the time delay or advising customers to seek safety. I would be very nervous about leaving younger kids in their care for camp.

Bottom line, my son enjoyed the experience. It's a great concept, just be prepared for LOTS of waiting in line in the hot sun.

I was assuming they would be limiting their numbers a little more for the aquapark, but it was packed. I think the day camp kids were at the aquapark during our session because I did not notice a ton of parents watching or monitoring, but there were a ton of small children. Of course younger children do not follow any kind of social distancing guidelines so just know that you will basically be joining the camp if you go in the summer!

This was my first time taking my kids wakeboarding. We only used the cable park. The kids were fitted with equipment and given some instruction. The staff offered encouragement & advice, as needed. They fell ALOT, but eventually got the hang of it and had a lot of fun. They can't wait to go back.

Why is this not a bigger sport! Why are there not more of these! I spend an evening at OWC last week and had a great time!.

I had never seen this before and was hooked in an instant. I had never wake boarded before but learned a lot in an hour and half and I cant wait to go again. This is not for the faint of heart as you will go fast. Not the no athletic types as you will be flung across the water when you fall and you will fall. But if you seek a challenge, a in shape enough to waterski and want to learn a new skill it is awesome!

You must be 10 and over to play. But there is a nice beach for siblings to watch There also is a large viewing area at the dock with a snack bar. The parking lot is on the advanced lake is a bit of a tailgate scene for the more advance folks. Flags flying and rock music blaring.

The pricing is similar to a ski resort. $22 for an hour, $28 for 2 hours or $40 for the day.
OWC offers extremely cheap rentals all the gear needed (board, vest, and helmet) for just $4! At these prices it is easy to get hooked on this sport. OWC also has lights for night skiing. It is open 10am – 9pm daily.

Bottom line : It is lots of fun! I wish there were more of these in the US.

The Orlando watersports complex is a waterski/wakeboard cableway. It is a cable that spins around in a circle to pull waterskiiers without the need for a boat. The complex has two cableways. One is ideal for beginners and slalom skiiers, while the other is great for advanced boarders.
I tried this sport once and got addicted. Now when I travel to Orlando, I don't go to the theme parks anymore. The Orlando watersports complex is all I need to have a great time down there.
Cons: Rental gear is not in as good shape as it used to be. They also recently started charging extra for it. Since I have my own gear, this is not a big deal though.

This place has always looked so cool from the 528 when we drive by...the service was ok and the experience was ok. But we felt like it should have been more

On Feb 1,2014 my husband, son and I found this remote watersports complex that features two small man made lakes with 2 circular obstacle courses. Never having wake boarded before we were excited and a little scared. We got a 4 hour groupon pass to check it out.
Eventhough we didn't get any, I definitely would recommend to get body suits (1/2 or full) especially in the winter months; this will not only keep you warm but will act as extra cushion when you belly flop and back flop or get dragged along the water (this will happen numerous times if you are a determined beginner). I had to take a 1 hour break to warm up from the cold water (I only wore a long sleeve dry fit shirt and swimsuit skorts) which was ok because I was able to play volleyball on silky, finely grained sand court as well as ping pong.
Overall, we had a fabulous time wakeboarding: learning, trying, failing and trying again until we succeeded. I recommend doing a couple of laps on the body board to get used to the slack/pull of the over head cables around the buoys. You need to be relatively strong and have good balance to successfully do it. We saw a few young kids that were very good. The instructors gave us tips to improve our ability to ride. After about 1 hr, both my husband and son were able to complete one lap around the buoys. It took me a little longer but, once I mastered it, I was able to do 5-6 laps before muscle fatigue set in and I needed a break. On the expert side of the lake, ramps and rails were set up for the experienced athletes to practice their moves which was entertaining to watch when we finished our session. The sunset was incredible!
Ps we were a little shocked to hear about the brain eating amoebas that thrive in hot, stagnant water; however, we were relieved to learn that the water temperature was too cold for them to survive and that the OWC had not had any incidences in its 15 year existence.
I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a great, active, experience. Would be enjoyed by snowboarders too.
