It's hard to give a small museum, almost a gallery of Earl Cunningham, five stars. But the Mennello is definitely worth a visit and is very inexpensive due to the gracious endowment of the Mennello family. His works are fascinating and are really worth engaging with and in his unique folk art style. The setting is lovely as well. A... More

The Mennello Museum of American Art could be more aptly titled the Menlo Gallery of American Art .It is a small space in a lovely bucolic setting next to a small lake-- which is actually ideal for the type of art which is displayed. In just three rooms, you can have a small taste of American Art highlighting two or... More

The museum is in a beautiful, bucolic setting with sculpture garden sitting lakeside. There is a permanent collection by Earl Cunningham there which is Primitive Art. However, up until January 3rd, 2016, you can view some of Mary Whyte's work, a watercolorist, who resides in SC. She is an amazing artist, mainly painting people at work or showing them going... This is a very small museum in which we've seen some spectacular exhibits. Admission is quite reasonable. Their permanent art collection consists of work by Earl Cunningham - which is naive landscape art, not particularly to our liking, but which might be of interest due to its highly-colored & surrealistic palette. The most recent exhibit we saw was of watercolors... More

I had an evening flight, so time to kill. Luckily I discovered this beautiful little museum. It is located in a sweet little park with a lake and gorgeous trees. The museum houses the Earl Cunningham collection, a fascinating naive painter, beautiful colouring! And the entree fee was only $4,-!

This is a small but charming art gallery close to the Orlando museum of Art. The main museum is devoted to paintings by Earl Cunningham but there are travelling exhibitions. We saw a collection by Mary Whyte who must be one of the most accomplished water colourists I have ever seen. If you see her exhibited anywhere, take time to... More

This is a small museum built around the Earl Cunningham's art, a collection which was acquired by Marilyn Mennello. The paintings are bright and draw your attentions to their simplistic and yet awe inspiring subjects from his original home in Maine with the blue water and ships, down the East coast to the brown water of the Florida Everglades. There... More

We visited all the museums grouped together in this arts district, and this was by far our favorite. It is small, and you may only spend a half an hour here, but the art is fantastic. It is art for the masses. One side with the Cunningham works is permanent, and the other half changes. When we visited, both sides... More

This was once a large private home on a lake. It makes a wonderful intimate museum with beautiful carpets and furniture where you are allowed to sit and contemplate the luminescent paintings of Earl Cunningham. This self-taught painter captured the natural magic of Florida, that exists away from the theme parks. It is the largest Cunningham collection in the world,... More
