This is an EXCELLENT experience for your teenager or yourself. You get the feel of real scuba diving in the ocean, but do not need to worry about ocean dangers.

You are wearing a life vest which will allow you to float. So as long as you are comfortable in the water, I think you should be fine

you will wear a snorkel mask. It is not the best and could allow some water in. you can tighten them as much as you want.
