My friend Lynn and I decided to do the bioluminescent tour because the pictures on the website looked so beautiful. It turns out that it was a beautiful night when we went out on the tour. I took got some really good sunset pics before the tour started.
When out tour guide Astrid arrived, we asked a bunch of questions because we had never gone out in a kayak before. Since this was our first time ever kayaking Astrid took time to explain how hold the paddle and getting in and out of the kayak. Once we were on the water Astrid made sure we were doing ok and assured Lynn she was going to be ok because the water was not that deep.
As we paddled through the water Astrid told us about the bioluminescent algae. When we reached the island and got out of the kayak I was amazed at when I put my hands in the water. It looked like I had picked up a handful of blue glitter. It took a few times to capture it on camera, but we made water angels and hearts in the bioluminescence.
This was truly a fun and new experience for me. I plan to do another tour the next time I am in Florida.

I just completed a three hour lesson with Astrid and it was truly exceptional. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and a gifted, friendly teacher.
I cannot recommend her enough.
I am signing up for a follow up lesson to learn more about recovery, etc. And I will be taking the Manatee tour as well.

I took a beginner's kayak lesson with Venture Outdoors with instructor Astrid. She was very helpful in getting me comfortable in kayak as it was my first time. With her guidance, by then end of the two hours, I felt secure with all the paddling strokes. She keyed on safety as well as tips and tricks. Astrid has definitely sparked a love for kayaking

We went with Astrid on a 3 hr kayaking tour round Rocks Spring Run. The tour was fantastic. Astrid was great, really knew her stuff regarding the local area and animals. She got us all organised, explained how the tour would go and off we went. She was very patient and encouraging as we weren’t the most experienced kayakers. We saw lots of different wildlife including alligators, turtles, an otter and lots of different birds. There was no need to worry about taking photos as Astrid had that covered too. These arrived the next day (for a small and very reasonable cost), and they were brilliant. Lunch was delicious and we ate at the side of the water and were able to have a little swim. We all had a brilliant time and would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Astrid for a great day.

I have had the pleasure of going on a bioluminescent night kayaking tour with Astrid. It was a powerful experience and so beautiful! Astrid is professional, well prepared and extremely knowledgeable about everything she does. I would highly recommend Astrid and Venture Outdoors for an experience of a lifetime!!

If you could give a 1000 stars I would. Astrid is so knowledgeable and patient. She finds every animal you never knew was there. Her picture pack is hands down the best money I spent on the trip! She does the work and yiu see everything!!!

Any one that kayaks should take Astrid's kayak rescue class - mishaps can happen at anytime to anyone. She taught me how to use assistive devices to get back into my kayak - even though I have limited range of motion with my shoulder and arm. Her patience and expertise were definitely tested but I made it back in twice! I have much more confidence in my abilities now. Can't recommend Astrid enough for kayak safety education. Have 2 kayak tour was amazing in emerald cut Astird was so wonderful. She did all her best so we can enjoy me my husband and kids. This is not the first time we go to adventure tour last year we had also same tour with her.

My family and I decided to book this last minute and we are so glad we did. Our guide was Sue and she was AMAZING!! Super friendly, and sweet, we absolutely loved her she made our time even better! We learned so much from her and we hope to book with her again.

Just do it!! We met Astrid who is an incredibly knowledgeable, kind patient and passionate lady and she took us on a perfectly paced kayaking trip up a beautiful river. We saw turtles, tons of alligators big and small, various bird species and of course Manatees. Astrid was very informative and gave great tips to enjoy the Manatees while respecting their environment. We stopped for a light lunch and had lots of chances to ask questions about all the wildlife we saw. My 12 and 15 year old loved every minute. I wouldn't change a thing!! Thankyou Astrid!!
