It is still good to make a trip across the I-drive but is becoming very outdated and tired! Places have closed down and main focus is now on the theme parks. Traffic can be very congested and poorly managed! Avoid peak times unless you want...More

International Drive runs through a large part of Orlando. Particularly the part running from the exhibition center up to Universal Studios offers many restaurants and shops.

Yes International drive is still busy and lots to do and see but the amount of places closed down and empty since last February tells me all is not well. Most eaterys are quiet and not too many people around in the evenings.

When I go to Orlando, I usually stay on-property at Universal Orlando, but I also often stay in one of the budget hotels along I-Drive. The amount of places to stay directly along I-Drive is mind-boggling, with hotels ranging from 1-star roach motels to 4-star...More

If you're not staying on property, this is a good alternative. Hotels everywhere, and all the chain restaurants you could want. It seems the higher end establishments are on the North end, it gets kind of sketchy the further South you go. Lots of traffic,...More
