Attractions and rides that kept breaking down, understaffed.
Jun 2021 • Family
This is the message I sent to Universal two days ago, after our visit:

My extended family and I (11 tot., 2 handicapped, 4 kids aged 10, 6, 6 and 5) bought 2 park, 3 day tickets, beginning for 6/5/21. We began our visit last Sunday., 6/6. On that day, while in the queue for the Ripsaw Falls ride, what was supposed to be a 20 minute wait turned into an hour, because of the ride breaking down. Later in the day, when the kids asked to be allowed to ride it again, the ride was closed due to repairs.
Next day, Monday, everyone was looking forward to riding the new VelociCoaster. But only four of the 11 made it before 9:00 PM. We made plans for our last day, which was yesterday, to start with that ride, to make sure we made it. As it turns out, we needn’t have bothered, because the ride was also closed due to repairs. Also on Monday, about 1500 hrs., after standing in line with the kids for 40 minutes at the Fast and Furious ride, this one also broke down. After another 20 minutes, we left for the sake of the little ones and with no feedback on when the ride would be repaired and ready.
Then yesterday, on 6/9/21, late in the day, at 1935 hours, my group entered the Hagrid’s Motorcycle Adventure ride. After standing in the queue for an hour and 15 minutes, just as we were close to boarding, the staff announced that the ride was down, that repairs were expected to be time consuming and that there was no estimate of when and if they would be completed. After giving it another 20 minutes, and as the long wait had tired our 2 handicapped family members as well as the little ones, we decided to call it quits.
This litany of breakdowns, as well as the understaffed food and drink kiosks throughout the park, lead me to conclude that the parks were opened precipitately, without being fully staffed with service and maintenance personnel and before the rides had been properly serviced so that they could reliably run. Despite this, the price of tickets was certainly not lowered to reflect the deficiencies the guests would encounter. If Universal is going to charge the prices it does, the least a guest deserves is reliably running rides, and food and drink services that don’t turn into another long line to stand in, almost as time consuming as those for the rides.
I will be posting this on Facebook as well as on TripAdvisor.

Way better than Disney/absolutely fabulous
Jun 2021 • Friends
This was my 2nd visit to Universal and I am just as amazed as the 1st time. The 1st time was last summer and lines and wait times were non existent because of covid. This year, even with it being much more crowded the wait times were not bad! And most of the time they were less than what the sign said. However, if you are one of those who are very impatient the fast pass might be something you want to get, but they really aren't bad! The staff is so efficient and nice. I am a smoker and I fully appreciate the designated smoking sections that are away from the flow of people but still very convenient. This has become my most favorite place to visit. Diagon Alley is fabulous. It is like you are immersed into the movie. I love every ride/show, except the Simpsons ride. It made me very sick, and I do not get motion sickness. But that does not even dent how much fun I had at this park. I hope to return very soon.

Universal Studios - I went again!!
Apr 2021
I love this park - wearing a mask was necessary, but a pain, especially when you have to walk to many of the rides. The rides were fun, especially the new Hagrid ride - had to ride 2 times on that one. The grandchildren loved it and it was enjoyable!

Still a great park after all these years...
Jun 2021
I'm a millennial and like many others, I grew up hearing "[insert show] was filmed in front of a live audience at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios Florida." I dreamed of visiting Universal to see where my favorite shows were made. I finally got to do that, but Nickelodeon was on its way out and is long gone now. While I'm enormously sad about it and the fact that kids today will never experience it, I will always have those memories. I do wish Universal paid homage to Nick in some way as it was a huge piece of its history and the childhood of myself and so many others. It's also disappointing that so little production still takes place here and there is no real ability for those interested in television/movie production to engage in such productions.

I moved to Orlando about a year ago and immediately got a Premier Pass at Universal. While I tend to enjoy the historic significance and nostalgia, there are still some great attractions here. I definitely feel like I've gotten a lot of entertainment value out of my pass and although there is a lot they could improve, I would recommend Universal Orlando to others. My favorite rides that are still here include The Mummy (short, but such a cool ride -- though I miss Kong), ET (this is a classic), and The Bourne Stuntacular.

Awful
Jun 2021 • Family
My family came. I have COPD snd chf. The buggies EVC should be able to be rented before you leave the parking garage. I had to walk to the theme park snd there were no EVC. To rent.they finally got me one from another park. On the way out I have to turn in my EVC at the park then walk through the city walk. I almost passed out and had to be wheelchaired out. No water stations to get ice water, restaurant lines 2 hour wait. We bought refillable cups so we could get ice snd water. The soda machines had refill timers on them snd did not serve water on the machines, plus about an hour wait to get refills. Not enough staff to serve all the people.
They said several people passed out due to the heat snd dehydration due to not having enough water stations to buy water around the park.
No shows just a few small shows on the steps , etc.
no shade to sit down. Not enough bathrooms, long lines. No direction signs to find your way around.
All food had to be ordered on an app.
I had an electric oxygen Inogen machine. No where to plug it up to charge etc.
This was not a fun experience for $700 dollars.
My daughter who is 24 and her boyfriend 25 hated it.
The waiting lines for the rides were 2-3 hour long

It was more fun years ago. My how it’s changed.
I would not recommend it.

Universal Studios park post-pandemic
Jun 2021
My wife, my daughter, and I went on a post-pandemic vacation after being vaccinated and things really starting to do better. This was a last vacation before our daughter starts her senior year in college, and moves away. This park offered a great experience. Because our daughter is a young adult, we took advantage of the single rider line. It allowed us to ride 12 rides on a 100 degree day in June, without having to wait in long lines. If you don't know about this, you don't pay any extra, they just use single riders to fill in where needed to maximize ride fullness. Most rides, my daughter and I still rode on at least the same car, and the longest we waited in any ride line was 2o minutes. It was amazing. We also loved that Universal loosened the mask rules for vaccinated persons. The only things we did not like; all the hand sanitizer stations were empty. There were not enough shade spots around the park for rest spots, and the food stations ran out of food by 2-3PM.

Awful Experience!
Jun 2021 • Family
My husband and I brought our 13 year-old granddaughter, mostly for the Harry Potter experience. The weather was almost 100 and no clouds. There were very few places in the shade and very few places to sit down. The few restaurants that were open had at least a two-hour wait. Needless to say we didn’t eat! The very few cold drink stands were few and far between and had at least a 30-minute wait in line with no shade. They had soft pretzels that were way over-salted and corn dogs at the drink stands. That is all we ate all day. We stopped at a restaurant on the way home for our only meal of the day. We will never go back again, but for those first-timers, like us, carry a backpack with cold beverages and sandwiches. That way you don’t have to stand in long lines and buy over-priced food and drinks. The attractions themselves were just ok. The Forbidden Journey ride was the best part of the day. The tickets to visit both Harry Potter and the other park where Hogswart was, were almost $200 per person. Just outrageous in my humble opinion. Way over-priced and over-rated!

Amazing Visit
Jun 2021 • Family
Universal Studios is an amazing Theme Park. During my trip to Orlando I visited both Universal and Disney Parks. Personally, out of the park chains prefer Universal. Disney has great parks, but out of the parks Universal Parks caters to more of an older audience. If you are visiting with teenagers or adults, Universal will keep both age groups entertained. Some of the noteworthy attractions are Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket, The Bourne Stunt Spectacular, Fast & the Furious Supercharged, Transformers 3-D, Shrek 4-D, and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts to name a few. This is a great park and I recommend purchasing the ticket that allows you to use both Universal Theme Parks, the dual ticket will allow you to take the Harry Potter train between both parks.

Express Upgrade
Jun 2021 • Family
We purchased our tickets at the window when we arrived at the park. Once inside, we decided to upgrade the tickets to express tickets. The website said $69. We went to guest services and were told we had to pay almost $300. $300 per person is just a ridiculous amount to upgrade a ticket that you just purchased for $164.

Lunch issues
Jun 2021
The rides were great, but we had an issue with lunch. We did a mobile order for The Three Broomsticks at Islands of Adventure. When we went to eat, we were told we had to get in the back of a line and wait. I spent 2 hours in line just to eat. I sent my husband and the kids to look in shops, but they joined me when the line moved inside. We still waited for an hour in that line after standing in the hot sun for an hour. They either need to do a reservation system where you get a return time when you make your reservation or have a place where you can pick up your food and take it with you. Basically, don’t eat at The Three Broomsticks during peak times unless you want to spend hours for lunch that could be spent going on rides.
