Beautiful park with local history. There are swimming spots but be aware of the posted signs. Impressive original building on the grounds.

The best time to go and see Manatees is in February. The gators are usually on the opposite side of the water from the viewing area. You will not be anywhere near them and I have only ever seen a couple.

Yes and No. There are areas where swimming is permitted, but also parts where 'gators are an issue. Swimming is restricted as well, when manatees might be disturbed by swimmers. That seems to be moot as the critters have... More

Possibly later, but in January and February, we have never seen any glowworms in Florida.
