WE have been for the big productions and just a walk through the museum- there are always things to explore for the young and the old, and Always new things to find. There is an arts and craft room for the littles, seasonal collections, and the tried and true local collections that plug some roots for the kiddos.

A birthday request. Enjoyed the scavenger hunt for kids. Caught a special exhibit on animation art. Will have to return to explore the art rooms so the kids can create their own masterpieces.

What a great place, who would think such a great place exits in the heart of Ocala. What a genius Mr. Appleton was. Thanks .

Beautiful, eclectic collection with a professional presentation. The 19th Century collection is particularly impressive.

Very nice collection for anywhere but especially a small city like Ocala. Wide variety of art periods and stykes. Tour guide was very helpful and informative. I will come back

We have joined every year. They have trips and tours to visit other museums near and far. Free evening specials with treats and music or interesting speakers.

Wonderful collection of asian, african and pre-columbian artifacts. Special exhibit on history of film animation was fun. Bigger museum than I anticipated and stayed almost 3 hours. Paintings which are supposed to be their signature collection were not inspiring. Great program for children. Definitely worth a visit if you have the time and are in the area.

I've visited a number of art museums in my 65 years, from modern art to Hudson River School. I'm not an expert in art by any means, but I'm a photographer of sorts and I have a pretty good eye for it. This was my first visit here and I wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't expect much, being... More

The Appleton has nothing to do with horses but everything to do with fine art. To happen upon this extraordinary treasure in my adopted community was a delight. Two continuously flowing floors featuring a wonderful permanent collection augmented by traveling exhibitions is truly a gift to the residents and visitors to Ocala and the North Central Florida area. I have... More
