Back in the 80's and 90's this was the best place around. The canoe run was the so much fun. After the storms in the early 2000's the canoe run is almost unrunnable. Major safety hazard. They told us it would take an act of congress to get all the fallen trees cut from the run. Shut it down before... More

We visited Juniper Springs on a weekday in May. The spring was nice and refreshing, very pretty but a little smaller than I expected. It was perfect on a weekday but we talked to a ranger that said the weekends were very crowded. Nice trails and a good little store for snacks and supplies.

The swimming hole is 72F all year around. The water is clear and feels great. The area has a nice Boardwalk, so you can walk around there with your tennis shoes. Also, they have shower rooms and changing rooms.

From the cool water to the great trails Juniper has everything you need for a hot afternoon. And the campsites are some of the best in Florida (and I have visited a lot of them!)

Today my family and I took a kayak trip in Juniper Run. I was very surprised the workers expected us to each load our kayaks on a cart, haul the kayaks to the river, take the cart back to the top and then they would reward us with a life jacket, whistle, and a paddle. The kayaking was very technical... More

This was the best Florida kayak / Canoe run I have ever done! It is beautiful and well taken care of. The staff was very diligent in taking care of and informing the visitors of the run. I am most definitely going to be visiting again.

This is a clear, narrow creek that requires some skill to maneuver. I would strongly recommend single kayaks instead of a canoe. It's about a 3 hour relaxed downstream paddle with shuttle service available in the park.

By the Wilderness I think they mean Juniper Springs. So so as far as springs go. Bottom of my list. As far as Juniper Run goes, I despise it. Narrow. Water isn't clear. Vegetation inhibits being able to see anything. I will NEVER go down it again.
