Exceeded Expectations
Jun 2021
My family and I walked in around 3:30 in the afternoon. It took a minute for someone to notice us and tell us that we could sit anywhere. It then took a few minutes for a server to stop by the table we chose. He was friendly and did a great job, though! My husband and I wanted to stop by Funky Buddha because we knew it was a brewery, but it exceeded my expectations by having table service for food and drinks. I enjoyed a core sampler to begin with, and a Hop Gun IPA. The 4 of us shared a couple of soft pretzels with beer cheese, salted caramel dip, and mustard. The salted caramel dip was very good with the pretzels! I'd definitely visit the Funky Buddha Brewery again, if I'm ever in the area.

Great Service
May 2021
We have been to Funky Buddha several times, especially to watch the Florida Panthers away games. It is a very good sports restaurant. We went to watch the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. As usual it was a fun experience.

Our server, Alex, was outstanding. He was very attentive and helpful. He has excellent timing. We enjoyed having Alex as our server.

We decided to order our food throughout the entire game. First we ordered the Funky Buddha beer brewed, at the brewery, at the restaurant. We ordered the Floridian and Eternal Summer, two beers we enjoy. Later, we ordered the red ale, another favorite.

Next we ordered the Yucca tots. This was an unexpected good choice. The yucca was served in a large basket for an appetizer. The amount was more than ample. The tots looked like small scallops. They were perfectly deep fried. The exterior was crisp and crunchy while the interior was soft and tasty. Later we ordered two 1201 hamburgers, one of their signature burgers. The large hamburgers were covered with lettuce, tomato, onions, and the other usual toppings. The hamburgers were perfectly cooked. The hamburgers were very tasty and filling. Two sides come with the hamburgers. French fries are an up-charge. We enjoyed the hamburgers.

Because Funky Buddha is a sports restaurant, the restaurant tends to get noisy. There is an outdoor dining area and a large cavernous dining room. There is also a rear event area.

Funky Buddha is on the east side of Dixie Highway, across the railroad tracks, at the corner of 38th street, between Oakland Park Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard.

Funky Buddha Brewery - definitely worth a trip!
May 2021
The beer is really good .... but the tasting room experience is even better! I always knew the Funky Buddha Brewery was in Ft Lauderdale area yet never sought it out until recently. What was I waiting for! The tasting room / restaurant is in a convenient, easy to get to location with indoor and outdoor sitting. And the top it off the food is really good too.

Just like any tasting room you can sample their beers ... either with their core sampler or pick your own. The spent grain pretzel is a must to go along with the beer sampling. Later in the evening I ordered the cuban sandwich (big enough for two people to share) and others in the group ordered the craft brat (also big enough for 2 to share). The night was not complete until we hit the merchandise counter and grabbed a few select beers and hard seltzers that are hard to find anywhere else.

Cool Brewery
May 2021 • Friends
We made a pit stop there yesterday on our way to Fort Lauderdale from Orlando. The atmosphere was real chill, and even dog friendly. They even had a few large screens with sports on. I wasn't the biggest fan of the beers I sampled, but there were some decent options. Great service, and nice spot to chill.

good beer, decent outside seating, great service
Feb 2021
Looooooved the beer options -- that Floridian - hefeweizen is fantastic. Was happy to be able to sit outside given the pandemic and all. The outside seating is decent, though does face the railroad track and not too far from the road nearby. The food was really good -- yucca tots in particular were really unique and tasty. Loved being able to buy case beer to go. Good spot!

Fun Diversion
Jan 2021
If you want a break from the beach, I recommend you consider the Funky Buddha Brewery. This actual brewery had its origins as a microbrewer and serves up some decent beers and has expanded into seltzers as well. I tried the maple bacon dark beer and had very low expectations but it tasted smooth and the flavors came together very well. You can also order some food items and I found the pretzels to be great with the beer. The Funky is a large place and they also have some outside areas where you can watch the trains pass by within feet of your table. This is a fun diversion.

Fun place, good atmosphere, good beer
Feb 2020
Not a quiet venue -- children running and playing, Brightline trains whizzing by -- but it is airy, fun, and offers a good place for friends and families to come for good beer, relaxing with a board game, sipping a good beer and noshing on somewhat atypical pub grub.

Lively Place
Jan 2020
Went to the restaurant on a sports night. The flat screens, there are many, were showing several of the sports events being played that night. The main dining room is very large and it was crowded.

We ordered the Tuesday Special, $12 Burger and Beer. The customer can select, virtually, any burger on the menu, including the specialty burgers. Also, the customer chooses one of the six specials beers brewed by Funky Buddha. Yes Funky Buddha is also a local brewery. We selected the Campfire and Chill Burgers. Also we ordered the Top Blonde and the Hop Gun IPA. The hamburgers were large and cooked as ordered. They came with several toppings and chips. The special was a good buy.

The customer orders the special at the Craft Food Counter and Kitchen and receives a token for the beer. Then, the customer takes the token to the bar for the beer.

If it is noise, yelling, cheering, and a lively atmosphere, then Funky Buddha is the place.

Funky Buddha is located at the intersection of NE 38 Street and Dixie Highway on the north side of NE 38 Street.

Great relaxing atmosphere.

First time visit for 3. Each person enjoyed picking their flight of beers. The food was also good. Very surprised in the casual environment - tables and couches. Besides people drinking/eating, patrons were also playing games! The was even a children’s play area. A good place to return.
