This place is like a round lake the size of a large city-sized swimming pool. The bottom of the lake is sandy with all different sizes of rocks scattered around the outer circle, so I'd recommend sandals. The inner circle of the lake consists of...More
The facility needs a major update! Everything is old and musty. The entry price is way too high for what it is. The spring itself is luke warm, as expected and has a "rotten eggs" sulphur smell that just made us feel icky. We didn't...More
For 2 months prior to my first visit to Warm Springs, I was suffering from severe back and leg pain. Had been to a few doctors (including Acupuncture) without much relief. Saw Warm Springs on a local TV program and decided to give it a...More
Surprisingly relaxing warm springs. Yes, it smells of sulphur, but not bad. Lots of Russians enjoying a soak, but not crowded. Bring a foam "noodle" to float on. No coolers allowed, so bring food and drink in bags. Showers and free lockers available - just...More
This place is amazing. It was a burial site full of bones. A sink hole 270 feet deep thousands of years old with hot spring water entering making it warm. The water is healing with abundance of minerals. Very interesting piece of ancient America.
The water obviously has a sulfur smell, but other than that a very neat attraction. The history of the springs is extremely fascinating. Great place to spend a few hours with the family splashing around. Take some food and drinks, leave your cooler in the...More
This place is a bit pricey at $20 for non-residents, but it is a neat experience. Be forewarned: It smells like 10,000 years worth of farts accumulated under the bed sheets. Once they are released, you realize you’ve sniffed the stench of Satan. Breath through...More
I was well aware of the smell of sulphur springs but nothing prepared me for this. I gave it an honest 30 mins but couldn't take any more after that. Foul smelling, slimy bottom, murky water with clumps of algae floating around, turtles swimming by...More

Hi - We are going to Sarasota for Christmas 2008 and would like to take a day trip to soak in the Warm Mineral Springs. We have two kids (ages 4 and 7)with us, and I see that the Warm Mineral Springs has a kids section but I did not know if anyone has been to it before. Also, is December a good time of year for the Warm Mineral Springs? Thanks so much!

I lived in the area as a child, and went many times with family. It is always warm, and I thought it a little strange as a child. However, I always enjoyed it - unique experience. December is fine if there isn't a cold front - just depends. If your kids can handle going from warm water to chilly air, it's fine then too. It can be very warm or chilly, so it just depends. There are other great day trips from Sarasota to the area as well. If you want to see the White Pelican, or unspoiled...More
