The park offers kayaking, bungalows, swimming and hiking. I have experienced all of them. Its a good place to go for a weekend or even a day out, take a date there for a romantic outdoor experience.

We rented a canoe at Oleta park and enjoyed every minute. The tide was high, perfect weather , a bit chilly to swim but very refreshing. Highly recommended

This is perfect day activity in Miami if like being outdoors. There are islands, beaches, a sand bar and more you can go exploring. This was the most fun I had on my Miami vacation Paddle out to the sand bar it’s worth it

Have visited the park three times to launch my kayak. The launch area is a little rocky but close to the access road so you don't have to go far from your car. Car parking is also close by and car/trailer parking is available. Once...More

We rented kayaks to take out to the sandbar - this was awesome. The rental process was super easy and across the entry road from where you enter the water. Navigating through the mangroves was a wonderful experience and would be really cool to experience...More

Nice place only if you willing tô rent a kaiak, a Stand up board or if you go there for mountain bike. Otherwise is a waste of time and money. You have tô pay for entering not the vehicle but also each person.

Oleta River State park (6 Replies)
What can you tell me about OLETA river State park. There are cabins on-site, what are they used for. Is the park safe?

Yes, I have been on the website and it looks absolutely perfect. However I have visited many cities, and Parks found in city centres can be (AT TIMES) less than inviting (drug use, drug dealings) Also took to bike paths in larger cities , only to be in areas that made me feel uncomfortable. Having never been to Miami, I would like someone who uses the park to give me their opinion. The primitive cabins are not an issue.

Looking for a breakfast/lunch place on beach b/w North Miami (1 Replies)
I am doing a 5K w/ a group of friends this weekend at Oleta River State Park in East North Miami. We all live in the greater West Palm Beach Area. We were thinking of having brunch/lunch somewhere along the beach after the race as we head back up to Palm Beach. Anyone have any ideas as to where we could stop(must have champaigne and beer=) along the way driving up A1A to eat and enjoy a brunch w/ good friends? Keep in mind that we will be coming from a race so nothing too fancy. Thanks for any...More

Driving Directions-traffic (2 Replies)
Coming to the Sony Ericsson Open on Sun evening and Monday all day. Driving down from Oleta River State Park in North Miami Beach. We've been a few years now and kind of know the way. Sunday afternoon/evening for the night matches shouldn't be too bad. Matches start at 1100 on Monday. Can someone recommend the best route for both days? Is there a good time mon. morning to miss the rush hour traffic but still get there in time? thanks
