This place has a nice history. The newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst bought it in Spain, brought it to the States, supposedly for his castle in California, but ended up in Miami, so we were very lucky to have it

A beautiful landscape and interesting history all in one. Bring your camera for scenic photo ops. We passed by the chapel where they were about to start service and the priestess was so welcoming that we joined in. And it's not even our religion!

Nice place with nice potential of grounds , great trees and natural settings however it needs a little love , it would take you 1/2 hour to walk around this quickly or 2 hours slowly ...

Lovely cloisters nestled in the middle of north miami. We thoroughly enjoyed touring the cloisters, church and surrounding gardens. They could do with either a prerecorded tour or a proper tour with more history on how part of this Spanish Monastery was taken down and rebuilt here. The little leaflet that is provided could include a map.

We had a great time visiting and learning the history of this monastery. The gardens are nice too and there are some interesting antiques on display as well. Worth the trip!

I believe this is the oldest standing building in North America. The story of the Monastery is really interesting and the medieval architecture should not be missed.

The entire monastery is a treat for the whole family. If you are into Medieval anything, including architecture, then this is definitely a place to visit. It's a fun 1-2 hours of slow walking and taking in the amazing scenery and sights. Definitely bring your camera.
