Okay, it's not Disney, but if you want see some interesting things, check it out. Huge souvenir shop, plus more. The taxidermed animals from around the world are interesting. And SHELLS! Amazing collection, check out the display cases by the back doors (nice clean up since I was there 10 years ago). Lots more to see and do, check out... More

We specifically visited the Shell Factory because of the pet friendly access and activities. This attraction looks like it was built back in the 70's and nothing has changed, including maintenance. We drove an hour to discover a very old, tired, and dirty attraction. I wouldn't even allow my dogs to use the specific dog activities/facilities because of how unclean... More

The Shell Factory has been around for as long as I can remember. I went in the 1970's when I was a child, and now I was glad to take my son to see the animals. They have a large variety of birds, including peacocks in two aviaries that you can actually go into and interact with the animals. They... More

This is a souvenir shop with benefits. The shop includes a lot of shell stuff, Christmas section & nature exhibits. There is a $Nature Park$ $Bar$ $Zipline-like ride$ broken kids amusements a stocked pond, etc. Most everything is old & dirty.

We passed by on our way in to Ft Myers and saw a large farmers/flea market in the parking lot and decided we'd stop on our way back. We were disappointed the market was finished by the time we got back. Decided to stop into the shell shop since we were there. Surprise! Much more than shells, which are ample.... More

This place is awful. It is tore down. Part if the animals are on a building that looks like a deposit. Roof is falling off. When we went it was a concert. So it looks that all they care about was that. Got a free round of minigolf. And when I saw it I just thought it was not worth... More

Hello, We appreciate your concern, and while we are improving our site we are providing our animals with safe habitats. We greatly care about our animals, they're our greatest priority. The Shell Factory does also hold various events for all to enjoy but that doesn't mean we would set that to be our greatest priority. Thank you for our review. More

Visited with grandchildren, 2 nine year olds and found that it in comparison to other years, it is simply a tired site. Animals are interesting but poorly kept. Aviary lacks the variety of wonderful bird and reptiles seen before. DISAPPOINTING! Bumper boats were mostly broken. Zip line for $8.50, lasted 2 seconds. A real honkey tonk feeling . SHELL out... There is dining, shopping, a nature park, bumper boats, etc. Lots of souvenirs and local artist works for sale. Fun place and very relaxing, not one of those intense touristy spots, but a nice taste of Florida!

this is Ft Myers answer to the tourist trap. A ton of great stuff, some overpriced. BEST SELECTION/DISPLAY OF CHRISTMAS ITEMS ANYWHERE! Best time to come is on Tuesday AM where you can enjoy the flea market in the back parking lot as well. Take advantage of the US Post office inside. they use a cool postmark for departing mail!

We are seniors so we went for shopping and nature park. Shopping was great with good prices. Nature park we not as good as we would have hoped. Safety fence keeps you from seeing animals and some pens and enclosures were empty. If you have kids there is plenty for them to do. If you have a couple of hours... More
