This is a beautiful beach ordinarily. In November the traffic is light. This year however the Red Tide was awful. The beach was littered with hundreds (maybe thousands) of dead fish. Be sure to check the Red Tide reports before you make the trip.

Was looking forward to a great day in Captiva. Arrived mid-morning and paid the $6.00 toll to cross the bridge. Traffic was better than expected and moving. It’s a low key, tropical type drive with beautiful homes. That’s when it went downhill. Good luck finding...More

Fort Myers beach is so much more fun and I like the sand there better as well. You drive forever at 30mph to get here and it isn't worth it unless you're 90 yrs old and hate ppl.

Beach is very clean, quiet and relaxing. Lots of seashells on the beach. It is walking distance to coffee shops and small food places. The parking is very limited- the parking lot only fits approx. 20 vehicles. We ended up parking in a lot that...More

Beautiful, clean, quiet beach. People tend to sit on the section of beach closest to parking but we walked down just a bit further and almost no one was sitting here. Arrive early for parking as it's a smallish lot. Several spots were open at...More

Stopped here for just an hour to check out shelling. Parking lot is very small. There is a porta potty but no other facilities. The water was very clear but there were warnings of rip currents. Unfortunately that day there were no shells.

We rented a home that was on the beach, so we were quite spoiled with our view and access. The water was warm, and calm enough during most of the day to do stand up paddle boarding with our grandchildren 6 and 9 yo. We...More

We’ve sent to the Beach several of times before and have always had a good time, nice sand, clear water etc. Now the water was polluted (red tide) also rips and plenty of dead fishes off shore. We had trouble breathing the air. Wait until...More

This is a great beach for walking and exploring. There are shells everywhere and it's perfect for wading or swimming. Just a perfect beach. Limited parking around the area.
