WOW! What a fantastic experience. I cannot recommend this tour or this company more highly. Alessia was such a great guide. So knowledgeable and she really has a great energy. She did a great job coaching us on paddling and steering the kayaks and in a very short period of time we were on our way.
This is the first time we have taken a kayak tour on Captiva, but it won't be the last. We have been enjoying Tween Waters Inn and Captiva Island for 17 years. Over the years we often would head over to the copse of mangrove trees near the marina to see the manatees, this is the first time we were in the water with them right next to and under us. Brian set up the tour for us and set our expectations explaining the low tides and what to expect regarding our ability to do the mangrove trail through Buck Key. We were able to do part of the trail and the cool thing about low tide is you can really see the root systems of the mangrove trees and get a better understanding of how that impact the ecosystem in the area. Then we stopped for a while in an inlet and we're able to drag our hands through the water and see the bioluminescent plankton light up. Seeing the bioluminescence was really special and although we have seen it before, it never gets old.
What a magical way to spend an evening in paradise, enjoying the quiet of a new moon kayak with our family. Thanks Alessia, Brian and the rest of the team at Adventure Sea Kayak!

Great time! Very relaxing and informative. The guide was very knowledgeable. He told stories, pointed out birds and told us facts about them, and explained all about the mangroves. Will definitely make this a regular part of our annual trip to Sanibel.

We had a fantastic, relaxing time on our kayak tour. Unfortunately, I don’t remember our guides name, but she had beautiful long red hair! She was fun to kayak and chat with and she did a great job teaching. She was very kind and personable. Prior to the trip all of our correspondence was very nice and helpful. We ended up moving our group to another later date with improved weather so it was helpful to have originally scheduled early on in vacation.

Our family of four - me and my husband, our two kids (9 and 12), plus my dad - booked a private tour with these guys. Wow! It was amazing. We did a four hour loop, starting in the gulf and paddling through Blind Pass Beach, then down along Buck Key, through the mangrove trail and into the lagoon, then back in the channel to the marina. It was amazing! We saw dolphins and pelicans and a variety of other sea life. Our guide was attentive and knowledgeable, friendly, and made us all feel relaxed and comfortable even in some windy and challenging paddling. I would recommend booking a trip with these amazing folks! Really awesome.

First time kayakers we decided to do the tour through the mangroves. So much fun! Carmen was our guide and knew all the birds we encountered and gave us lots of great information on the mangroves. Kayaking through them was so cool, like nothing we had ever experienced.
In case you are wondering what happens if you tip over. Well I would suggest you don't do it in the mangroves as my husband did LOL. Carmen was great at directing him how to get back into the kayak after he had gotten stuck up to his knees in the disintegrating plant matter.
Highly recommend this tour!

Took our 17 & 19 yo teenagers here for something to do and the trip was perfect. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, and provided good advice to maximize our 2 hour trip. We saw lots of Herron, water fowl, fish and other wildlife in their natural habitats. Water on trip is probably 3-6 very during low tide and we were able to kayak around Buck key and into the lagoons. Mangroves talk was pretty impressive. I would highly recommend this outfitter and trip

Kayaking with our tour guide, Audrey at Tween Waters was the best! She was so knowledgeable of the area, made sure we “played” with the manatees and we even saw a dolphin. Audrey took photos and videos then air dropped them to me. She took her time as my husband and I are not regular kayakers. Such a highlight if our vacation! Can’t wait to do it again!
Thank you!!

This is the third time I have rented kayaks from Adventure Sea Kayak. The kayaks are always in excellent condition and comfortable whether single or tandem. The staff are always eager to let renters know of water and weather conditions as well as the best time to kayak with the tide levels. Maps are provided although it is difficult to get lost. I suggest taking a picture of the site as you paddle away for ease of finding it when you return. Touring through the mangroves is always different and we fished this trip in the lagoons as well. Always a GREAT time!

Did the paddle board cruise with my teen and had an amazing time. Sam, our guide, gave us a quick refresher session before heading out around an off-shore island and through a mangrove tunnel. From the birds to the fish, Sam was able to identify and offer fun facts about the wildlife we encountered. We were even introduced to Karl (sp?) the Anhinga who follows Sam on his tours, and saw a year-old Manatee just as we were ending the tour. If you have a few hours on your next visit, I would definitely recommend Adventure Sea Kayak.

Great experience. We got to enjoy an amazing sunset and our guide showed us around the mangroves at dark. Nice not to get sunburned kayaking. Recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and safe adventure. No paddling experience needed.

Hello,
We will be coming to Captiva next week and I'm wondering what time of day is best to do the tour with what wildlife you will see? I am really hoping to see manatees and am wondering if there is a Day part that is better than others for sightings.
Thank you!

Hello, 3 questions: 1) is the trail marked if we just want to rent and go w/o a guide? 2) Do you provide a map? and 3) do the tides make the trails impassible? Thanks. Looking at a possible August visit.

We will be on Captiva during the first week in April. Is it necessary to book a tour before we arrive?
Written March 12, 2017
April is a busy time on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. It is a good idea to book in advance. You can do this on or by calling our reservationist (Brian) at 239 822 3337

Hi Roy,
I was curious about the night tour, and I was wondering if you could help. I have three children 10,11,14. I was wondering if you think they would be able to handle the tour. They are all athletic. It sounds like you had a nice time. I have never seen the bioluminescent algae, so I was hoping to see it.
We will be there 4/9-16. I am not sure of the night yet. Would you recommend when the moon isn't as bright.
Thank you for your time,
AnnMarie
