Wow! Captain Steve, thank you! Our family had an amazing time. Your incredible knowledge about the marine life kept the four of us interested throughout this wonderful journey. The dolphins, manatees and shelling were out of this world. As a Floridian, I knew afternoon storms were possible, thank you for navigating through the storm to get us to a safe area. We plan to make an annual event. Thanks again Captain Steve looking forward to next year.

My daughters (ages 16, 18, 20) and I were on a girls' trip to the area and I wanted to do something fun with them. I happened upon the New Wave website and loved the idea of the 4 hour tour. We ended up heading out for an afternoon on the water. Steve taught us all along the way about the area, the sea creatures and other fun facts. We got to see all of our favorite things from dolphins to manatees to starfish to amazing shells. I would highly recommend anyone to do this tour! We will be back for sure when we are in the area with other friends and family.

We took a morning half day trip. My son deemed it "super special" - and indeed it was. We saw dolphins, manatees, a shark we think and snorkeled looking for sand dollars and shells at Cayo Costa island. Stephanie answered all our questions about flora and fauna. And we dubbed their dog Awesome Dawson. Didn't see a sea turtle, a last request, but the next morning we did, so all our requests met!

Glad to hear it was a wonderful experience. Those sea turtles can be hard to find! They are up for a second, then gone for two hours.

My 13 year old granddaughter and I went on an afternoon trip with Captain Steve on Friday July 25th. We left from Castaways where we were staying so it was super convenient . Steve is very amicable and I felt we were going out boating with a friend. He's also very knowledgeable about Florida wildlife! We started out and almost immediately found a dolphin that Steve is familiar with. His name is Teddy after Teddy Roosevelt who visited South West Florida. We also saw another pod of dolphin a little further out. Since my granddaughter was interested in finding shells we headed up to Cayo Costa and docked the boat and snorkeled for shells. We found some and Steve found some as well which he so kindly gave to us. He even made a little necklace out of two and gave them to me and my granddaughter. After snorkeling we Stopped at North Captiva to dodge a little storm. This was nice as we had stayed there a few years back and brought back some nice memories . It also gave us a chance to stretch out legs and get something to drink. On the way back we saw a lot of birds and even an alligator! I can't recommend New Wave Eco Tours enough. I will definitely be going out with them when we go back to Sanibel.

We had a great time. Capt. Steve and Stefanie gave a fun tour of the Sanibel-Captiva area giving an equal parts history and naturalist lesson that was on par for the crowd (2 adults and 2 kids that are 6 & 9). Got to see up close manatees, Dolphins, different types of conch, horseshoe crabs, birds, and even an alligator cruzing around the mangroves! They keep it to a maximum of 6 passengers, which is way better than “cattle car” charters that can take out up to 25-30 passengers for each trip. They took us to various locations along the inland and offshore sides of the islands. We were able to get out and explore the sandbars at Redfish Pass (ocean side) and the grass flats on the inland side. We also got to get out on the barrier islands and look for shells, learn about the wildlife and all about sea turtle nesting. Our 9 year old loves learning and exploring nature. Stefanie was great at keeping her engaged with everything and at the same time letting the 6 year old still feel part of the discussions. Capt. Steve really knows the waters and took us to some awesome locations. He worked hard to show us as much as he could while avoiding the usual Florida summer time rain squalls. Even if you have been the Sanible-Captiva before, the islands are even better from the water. Capt. Steve and Stefanie run a fantastic charter!
