Capt’s Brandon & Rob killed it…. We were in the dolphins and manatees within 15 mins. Capt. Brandon actually saw us pull up “group of 15” and came over and asked if we were his 6:30 charter? These guys made every effort to make us feel welcomed, they were very knowledgeable but not overbearing at all. My 90 year old mother walker and all was escorted to and from the boat and said she had had a great time. I am a local but had had all of my family from Missouri and North Carolina with me. They all absolutely loved the trip, and said more thane once they could see why we moved here. If you want a great boating experience and to see what Florida wildlife is all about this is the spot for you. Turtle Mound is fantastic. We brought snacks and beverages they provided views of the beautiful sunset and dolphins. They even let us play our music on their Bluetooth speaker…

We were concerned with taking a public tour so we did the private. The captain and first mate went above and beyond to make our family feel safe and have fun. We had a little rain but it was perfect to cool us off and the dolphins seemed to love it. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys seeing the sights and wildlife. Thank you very much.

The crew did a great job finding and pointing out the wildlife, including a couple of dolphin that joined us for a surfing run. The guys were friendly and informative. Would definitely recommend this tour for those interested in experiencing some of the waters around Canaveral National Seashore.

There is not information about boarding times. My family; wife and two kids 7 and 11 arrived with five minutes to spare only to find that everyone was waiting on us. If the boarding time had been posted, I would have been prompt. I do not like being late to anything! The captain tripped over his words at least a dozen times and made annoying repetitive sounds each time. Very unprofessional and I got the idea that this may have been the result of a his choice of beverage. I came to that conclusion because he referenced alchohol at least a half dozen times during the trip. The first mate was kind, attentive to the children on board and did her job well. She was answering a question one of the children had softly at the front of the boat. The captain, called her out and asked what was going on. When the first mate told him what she was telling the young child, he asked her if she wanted the microphone? Then he began to talk to some of the guys in the back about how if she wanted to be the captain, she could give him a day off. The captain referred to his first mate by her name, Sarah about have the time the rest of the time he called her sweetie. This report is being made by a father of a young lady and I felt that it was way out of line. We were not able to see manatees, that is cool, I can live with that. I drove to Titusville and saw dozens of them for free and had a nice shrimp meal and watched a Space X rocket take off from Kennedy Park. Much nicer day for my family than the $120 dollars I spent on this for my family. Will not use this company again. I work in marketing and production. Here are a few ideas other than the obvious ones that can be fixed by personal changes. When you do not see manatees or dolphins, work out a deal with J.B. Fish Camp. I mean you are returning the 3:30 voyage guest at dinner time. See if you can get a 20% discount on the meal. No less than 15%. Only 10% is a joke, I mean you expect us to tip between 15% and 20% for service, right? There is apparently no deal worked out for anything like that. It would give the customer the idea that Turtle Mound River Tours takes care of thier client base. It softens the blow for those who have spent 120 with expectations of a wonderful experience. However, even if they offered a discount at J.B. Fish Camp, I would have left. Once I left the boat, I could not get out of there fast enough.

I'm sorry it took me a few days to look in to this review. I believe it's got a lot to do with being on time so we have made it even more visible on the receipt and confirmation about being there 30 min before boarding. It must have been an embarrassment for someone who prides him self on being on time, when the captain made a feeble attempt to make light of it in front of the other passengers who where on time and waiting on you, and I apologize. Our captains do not drink alcohol or do drugs. All of our crew are subject to random testing and it is a serious federal offense. The captain's lapse in professionalism was due more to the long day he had rather than his "choice of beverage." With all that aside, there is no excuse for the Captain talking to his crew in the manner you described and let me assure you, it has been addressed with him. I thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to my attention.

Excellent tour. We enjoyed the narration and loved the information about the area and the Indian River Lagoon. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to find out more about the history and the ecological balance of the area.

While we didn't see any manatees (which were the grandchildren's goal), we were thoroughly entertained by the many dolphins who played in our wake and swam next to the boat, went tails up, and played with each other. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife, spotting creatures well before any of us passengers did--or maybe even would have!. He had a great sense of humor and a good eye.

My family (me, my wife, 2 daughters and their husbands, and 3 grandkids) took a Turtle Mound River tour and it was 2 great hours. We had our own boat and captain....they were very knowledgeable and engaging, and we were able to see many dolphins from afar and also, swimming, jumping, and playing in our wake. That was worth the price of admission!!! I would highly recommend - it was easily one of our highlights of our vacation!

This was my first time to New Smyrna Beach, and this tour was a very relaxing and interesting way to end the vacation. The hour we spent out there was filled with dolphins and the guys doing the tour knew so much info about the islands. The dolphins basically were listening to him when we got around the pods. We didn’t see any manatees, but the amount of dolphins we saw was well worth it. Best thing we did all trip!

Whether you are a local or visitor to Florida this is a nice and different way to spend your time. You get outside on the water and learn a lot about the area. The captain shares the history of the area and is outstanding in his knowledge of the animal and plant life. Ride along as the dolphins play in the waves made by your water vessel. You'll thoroughly enjoy a relaxing time on the pontoon and will depart saying "I'll be back!!!"

We live in Orlando but we wanted to do something different over Spring Break and my husband suggested a boat ride in New Smyrna Beach. I found Turtle Mound River Tours with a quick internet search and we liked that they had an early trip and also that they did their trip through the Mosquito Lagoon.

We booked for an early Monday morning and it happened to have rain forecasted for that day. Lucky for us it held off until after the trip but we did encounter some rain drizzles. The boat crew offered soe ponchos for those who needed them. The Captain was very knowledgable about the area and we loved hearing some of his personal boating stories.

We highly recommend Turtle Mound River Tours next time you are out in NSB!
