9/30/2018; Well I am shocked and happy the park service put up a new sign on the road just before parking lot #4 to inform people "WARNING You may encounter nude sunbathing within boardwalk 5".The beach is still wonderful and the last hurricane appears to...More
I went there on a Saturday, had no trouble finding a parking space in lot 5. Was a little nervous at first, the beach is beautiful, people are friendly but respect your privacy. I enjoyed my visit and will return.
$20 to park. Allowed cars on a portion of the beach. Crowded/ppl right next to you. Restrooms and outside showers were available.
A man took a shower like he was at home. Shampooed his hair and everything! There was a line waiting to RINSE off....More
Beautiful drive, checked out all the beaches. #5 has the least amount of parking, #4 has a few more and #3 having even more. We parked at #4, on a Sunday afternoon, beach was lovely. Definitely would go back.
Had a sunday to visit, so got up at 6am for the 10 minute drive from our rental condo to the National Park---the fee is now $10 per carload and you have to get up that early for a spot at lot #5 (only 30...More
This beach is remote enough that it remains in an unspoiled state. Only a few small parking lots are present on the beach side. Lot 1 is right next to the entrance station. Lot 2 was closed for repairs. Lots 3 and 4 are in...More
The great thing about these beaches is that there is only so many parking spots so the beach is never crowded. That being said, you have to get there early on the weekend, or you will have to wait for a parking space.

Well the beach people will ignore you and will not engage in conversation with you. If the rangers see you, you could be cited for lude and lascivious behavior. If that happens you could end up in court in front of a judge and if found guilty you will appear on the web site for sexual predators, then you could loose your job where your employed. Being nude is not a crime, Lude and lascivious is! Just go and enjoy the sea shore, act normal, if you get an erection, cover it or calm down. Nudity is not sexual according to naturalist.
So I always encourage people to go to the viewing center--I know that there is a good place for lunch that has been mentioned but I can't find the name off it. We will be going over--please refresh my memory.

The restaurant that most people recommend is Circles in Apollo Beach. It’s right on the water, and the food is very good.
Apollo Beach (2 Replies)
Hi! was looking for a nice beach to visit in March for an overnight stay and I don't think I have been to Apollo Beach before. How is the beach? Water clear? Are there a lot of big rocks in the water? (I really hate that) Are there any good hotels on this beach? Are there big crowds at this beach? I am worried about that because the time I am going will be around Spring break. Any information will be helpful Thank-you! :)

Apollo Beach is a small community on Tampa Bay. This is NOT the place to go if you want a day or night at the beach. You should consider going to a beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Look at St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks Beach or Clearwater Beach.

What is the best route going from Tampa Airport going south to Bal Harbour,Apollo beach blvd. Will be arriving at 7pm in the evening. Also will I be needing cash for the tolls at any point? ..thanks

You can pay tolls by phone or just avoid them by taking I275 to I4 to I75. There are no cash toll booths now.
