- radx4Ellicott City, Maryland2,243 contributionsQuiet BeachWe visited the Clam Pass Beach on a recent visit to Naples. We had a good time at the beach. It was clean and fairly private with nice facilities. The water was warm in late March, which made for fun swimming. Note that it is actually not very easy to get to the beach. The parking lot is more than half a mile away from the beach area, and you do have to pay for parking. This would be a long walk, especially carrying supplies, but a shuttle was actually provided at no cost by the Naples Grande Beach Resort, which is in the area. Note that the shuttle has limited capacity, and there can be a significant wait to ride during busy times. There is a fee for renting chairs and umbrellas, which are provided by the resort. We locked out because we arrived late enough in the day that attendants didn't care that we used them without paying. Overall, I would recommend Clam Pass Beach for anyone looking for a fairly private beach experience in the Naples area.Visited March 2021Written April 17, 2021
- kathy1159Lutherville Timonium, Maryland16 contributionsAwesome morning walksWe were in Naples for the month of February and got into the routine of walking the boardwalk in Clam Pass Park every morning. It's beautiful! It's a 15 minute walk thru mangroves to the beach. Sometimes we would take our bathing suits and rent an umbrella and chairs. The beach is clean and wide. There is a little restaurant at the end of the boardwalk so food and drinks are available all day. Bathrooms are clean! If you don't want to walk to the beach they have trams continuously running to take you back and forth. The wildlife is amazing too! I'm not a birdwatcher but I saw some beautiful ones during our walk. I've also seen guides taking people thru and showing them different plants and wildlife. I'm not sure where you sign up for that. But it is probably on their website.Visited February 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten February 17, 2020
- Cherry_WonderdogNew England3,098 contributionsPossibly my favorite beach in USAFantastic little venue for wandering down a long, modern nature boardwalk amidst the mangrove trees and exotic spiders, ultimately leading to a very scenic, not too wide beach with powdery white sand, oodles of shells, nice waves, crystal clear water, and very little commercial build-up. At first touch, the February water felt somewhat cold. But the New England canine in me quickly came into gear, and I jumped in what ended up being pristine water at an ideal temperature. The juxtaposition between the 85-degree outdoor air, the hot Naples sun beaming down on my skin, and the relative coolness of the 72-degree water couldn’t have been better. It was like paradise. I searched for shells and found a few tiny gems to bring home. Changing into my bathing suit in the small bathroom was straightforward. Too bad the expensive bar stand serving junk food had rules against bringing drinks onto the beach. Walking back to where we parked our bikes was just as pleasant. (FYI, car parking was $8). It was important to avoid the elongated golf carts towing families and those with physical challenges unable to make the trek by foot. Fortunately, they were pretty quiet and benign. Beautiful beach. Nice walk. Highly recommended!Visited February 2020Written February 23, 2020

We went to this beach twice at low tide. The water was relatively calm and crystal clear. You could walk out 70-100 yards and it wasn’t above waist deep in some spots, which made it ideal for finding sea shells. Very clean beach. An over priced mediocre restaurant is available (cash only). The shuttle transporting you to and from the beach is efficient. Just make sure you aren’t leaving around 3:00pm because the line will be way too long.
Parking is $8.

IF YOU ARE A SENIOR...or have mobility issues, this beach is great for you. It costs $8 to park and there are ten handicap spaces (We hear the parking will increase to $10 in January 2020) Wait for one of the trams to pick you up at the entrance to the boardwalk It is free, but you should tip a couple of dollars. You CAN walk, but it is truly a mile, and if you are carrying folding chairs or bags, it is long. It is very shady though, and if you get tired, the trams are allowed to pick you up along the way if they have the space. You will be deposited on the beach, at the Rhodes End, which is a comfort station with restrooms, a cafe, a small tiki bar, and plenty of tables and chairs, some in the shade. There is a wheel chair accessible ramp, or steps with handrails. Once on the beach, you will need to walk about 50 feet through soft sand, to get to the packed sand that is easier to walk on. About 3/10s of a mile up the beach, to your right, is an estuary, which is very interesting. At low tide, it is mostly tide pools filled with sea critters, and at high tide, watch the kayakers. A jetty of sand serves as a resting place for sea birds of all kinds and you can often see murmerations, when they lift off, glide around and resettle. Look up across the estuary to see a nesting pair of bald eagles. Food here is decent, but high priced. We paid $5 for a water bottle, $18 for a burger, and so on... This is the best beach in Naples, and worth seeking out.

What a nice place .Cool birds. The water was nice and blue. The pass is cool. The snack bar is pricey and wish you could pay to park by the hour instead of being charged for the whole day. Cool walking and riding on the boardwalk to get to the pass from the parking lot. A lot of nature to look at.

Clam Pass is one of my favorite beaches; it is both publicly accessible and extremely convenient from the Naples Grande Beach Resort. A long boardwalk through mangroves provides either a nice walk, or one can take a golf cart tram to and from the beach entrance. Along the boardwalk, you'll find informational signs about the wildlife and nature. Despite the shade and moisture, there were no mosquitos to be seen.
Once you arrive at the beach, there are public restrooms, a restaurant, and rentals available. We did a private beach cabana on a Wednesday. The location reserved was ideal for a lovely view, while being close to the hub of rentals, food, etc. The set-up was right near a shell deposit; poking around, my dad found a large fossil shark tooth! The cabana reservation also included a selection of fresh fruits delivered around 1 PM.
Early November was a lovely time to visit; snowbirds from northern states hadn't yet come down for winter, and there were no major vacations causing families to come from elsewhere. The crowd was thus much diminished, and on such a large beach it was easy to spread out for your own space. I enjoyed walking down to the namesake 'Clam Pass' break in the beach, watching shorebirds, keeping an eye out for seashells, and enjoying the atmosphere.
There are endless amounts of shells on this beach, especially at low tide or after a storm. The more eye-catching variety (such as conch) is limited; but there are mountains from clams and other bivalves.

Ate there with family member after a few hours sunning on the beach. How to order was confusing and caused a huge delay. Hope this helps you avoid the delay. If you order your drinks at the window you need to order your food there and sit at the tables under the umbrellas. If you want to sit in the outdoor restaurant area you get table service. Waited a long time to be seated which was unnecessary. We were the only ones waiting to be seated and there was one empty table in front of us. We got drinks while we waited. Sat at the one empty table with our drinks and because we had drinks every server thought while I went and got the drinks my family member was asked if we needed service. She said yes I was getting drinks. But after that were were ignored! All told it took more than a half hour to get our order taken! Food was o.k - but not worth the price. I had gyros, my aunt had a salad. Would not eat there again.

Neat spot for the sunset. You have to pay $10 to park. There is a shuttle to take you out to the beach so you don’t have to walk the long boardwalk, which was nice since we brought our two small kiddos ( 2 & 4). Once out to the beach there is a drink/concession stand, toilets, and tables & chairs. It was very windy when we went so might want to bring a sweater. The bathrooms were not great though.
The nice part is that you can get cocktails or beer and watch the waves/sunset from the deck. There was also a little play area on the deck with small slides and toys that our kids loved. The beach was nice, but narrow.

Loved this beach will go back. It is harder to get to, so less people, although the day we went it was still a busy beach. Beach is at end of a mangrove lined very nice boardwalk - very walkable if you want some exercise, but you can also take a free shuttle to beach. There is a restaurant and restrooms here, so it had facilities. Facilities and beach were clean, sand was nice and white, beach is nice to walk on. Take your chairs and coolers and anything you need. This isn't far from Naples beaches and feels more private. One of our favorite beaches!!!! On a busy day or weekend, go early to assure parking spot - about $8 a day to park.

High recommend this beach for any Naples local and visitor! $10 to park all day, lovely beach, lots of cool shells and plenty of beach for everyone! Me and my husband went and walked the beach looking for shells and found a neat little cove area about 1/4 mile from the beach restaurant. Highly recommend taking the FREE golf cart ride from the resort to and from the beach. Otherwise enjoy a nice 3/4 mile pier through a gorgeous swamp land. And I mean that we did walk once down it and it was beautiful but we definitely took the ride back! The water was fairly clear and we could see fish and even a manta ray swimming near us! The water was also super shallow and we could go out pretty far and still touch! I am 5’4 and went probably 100 feet out and it was waist deep! Little to no waves. I found lots a beautiful and neat shells! It was such a great beach we went 2 days in a row.
As a beach local (from Virginia Beach). I highly recommend for any beach lover!! It was such a nice experience that next time we visit Naples we will be sure to visit again and again!

Get there early in the day if you want to see birds. I arrived at 9:00 a.m. on a Thursday in February, driving over an hour to get there. There was a big group of black skimmers, royal terns, sanderlings, variety of gulls and pelicans on either side of the pass. Unfortunately, some adults disregard the signs saying not to disturb the birds. Two bratty boys ran screaming through the flock on the far side of the pass and no adults stopped them. Needless to say, all the birds flew away and did not return.
Beach is nice white sand. Beach filled up with people quickly in the 2 hours I was there.
Other reviews described the amenities. A beach wheel chair is available at no charge.

This place is great. You can take a little tram down the boardwalk to the beach. There is a great place, or a bit pricey to get good food and drinks. You can rent beach umbrellas and chairs or bring your own. I highly recommend it. There’s a little nature trail too.

Can Food be ordered from the beach and delivered? Cost for chairs and umbrellas

No, I did not see anyone ordering/delivering food. Depending upon where you set up, you can be very close to the restaurant and takeout counter. Lots of umbrella seating for take out and it gives you a break from the sun.
Umbrellas and chairs only available for guests of the Naples Grande Resort, which is in a specific area.
Each golf cart like trolley that takes you from the parking lot to the beach holds six people and with enough hands you each manage a beach chair and beach bag. If you have access to a bundle/grocery buggy, you can load that up and someone can walk on the boardwalk to the beach. in our party of four, two took chairs and bags on a trolley (which runs continuously) and two walked with the umbrella and other gear in a bundle buggy.
Well worth the visit. Liked in better than Lowdermilk.
Do you have beach wheelchairs?
Cynthia F
Naples, FL5 contributions
This is a Collier County park and there are ramps and etc that would be accessible but they do not provide wheelchairs, you would need to bring yours down on the golf cart from the parking lot to the beach area with you.

is there a charge to get in? sounds like going to a beach is quite complicated with the parking issue.
thanks!
