I have been to several Holocaust museums in the US and can honestly say that this was one of the best and moving experiences I have ever had. Though the museum is small by museum standards, the docent, Stuart, really raised the experience and brought it to life. His own story of his parents weaved throughout the presentation helped to shape and personalize the horrors and tragedies of the holocaust and even brought some in the audience to tears. It was a wonderfully done linear history from World War I through the 1950s, very informative with plenty of time for Q & A. I highly recommend the docent-led tour rather than just viewing the museum exhibits on your own. This went way beyond my expectations.

We recently visited The Holocaust Museum and Cohen Education Center in Naples Florida. We were greeted by a friendly and informed staff. The exhibits guide you through the 12 years of this horrific event chronologically in an easily understood manner. It was an educational but somber experience and given what is happening in the U.S today, this and other museums like it should be a required stop for everyone.

I found this museum to have a very eclectic and visually interesting presentation of The Holocaust. There are unique artifacts, engaging photos and informative graphics and exhibits. I particularly enjoyed our wonderful docent tour by the very knowledgeable guide named Bailey. She led our group through the museum with great passion and highlighted many parts of the collection, shedding new light on a history that I know all too well. Great job Bailey!

The holocaust museum in Naples Florida is a definite stop for visitors to the city of Naples! With the price of a ticket you have an opportunity to take a self guided tour or to have a guide help explain some of the very informative displays. For me Having a personal guide(Elaine) helped prioritize and explain some of the vast museum’s collection of information on this tragic time in history! Incidentally I only learned of the Holocaust Museum‘s existence by visiting the military Museum at the Naples airport. Our guide Charles at the military museum informed us about this Holocaust Museum.

We had a very informative and moving experience at the Naples Holocaust museum. Our museum docent Ron provided a very detailed and interesting account of the history and leading personalities of the time leading to the Holocaust. He held my attention the entire hour and a half. Less information was provided about the camps themselves but this information is available in the museum displays. The museum facility is small but the exhibits are first class. We were glad that we took the time to visit.

The docent giving the guided tour was fantastic. The museum is small, but the knowledge of the docent was more valuable than exhibits. He explained in depth for an hour and a half the lead up to the holocaust and then the entire time line of the war as well as the aftermath. It was educational and thought provoking.

We noticed a rather large box car on the parking lot of one of our favorite restaurants and taking a look realized that it was an exhibit from the The Holocaust Museum & Cohen Education Center, near their new location in North Naples. To say this is a must museum to visit if you are a student of history, would be an understatement. A must is the guided tour of the museum, there is so much to see that this one and one half hour tour will help put everything in perspective. After the tour you can spent time looking at the exhibits and other artifacts within the museum. Very nicely done and it is an opportunity to learn a little history along the way.

The guide started the tour with the statement that he "gave a politically incorrect" tour and it went down hill from there. After the tour ended, he accused me of being anti semitic when I asked a question about the 3 million POWs/slave laborers that were also annihilated. He became increasingly angry and hostile. He then proceeded to tell me that the reason why I asked the question was because of my ethnic background! I hope this is not what the museum is aiming for, and I was very dismayed. Many ethnic/religious groups suffereed from the Nazi organized Holocaust. Recognition of the breadth of the victims who suffered this tragedy should be an important message of the museum and would help keep the overall message alive!

Would not want to expose my friends or family to that docent. I suggest that docent be retired, or skip the museum.

Thank you for visiting the Museum and for writing to us about your experience. I am very sorry to hear about the interaction you had with our docent and will speak with him right away. Please be assured this is not the message of the Museum. Our goal is to teach the facts of the Holocaust, discuss the fact that 6 million Jews and 6 million other people, including the disabled, Slavs, Roma, homosexuals, communists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, were killed by the Nazis. We hope people will leave the Museum feeling inspired to take action against bigotry, hatred and violence and promote mutual respect for all people.

This museum eloquently tells the story of the Holocaust. I have been to many Holocaust Museums around the world and found them all to be meaningful, almost spiritual experiences. This museum is relatively small but is equal to its larger counterparts because of the excellent guided tours. Be sure to schedule your visit to include the movie and the guided tour. I encourage any family with teenagers to bring them along. This museum makes history come alive.

While not the usual way to spend your last day in Naples, I am so glad I did. The exhibits were heartbreaking, but the outrage clearly felt by our tour guide was even more heart wrenching. We need to see this, and our children, and our children’s children, especially the parts talking about how this horror was allowed to happen
