About
My name is Capt Chris McCubbin, and I am the owner/operator of Naples Inshore Fishing. I am a Naples native and have spent my entire life fishing the waters of southwest Florida. I am a full time guide fishing close to or more than 300 days per year. I specialize in live bait fishing for big tarpon, snook, redfish, massive shallow water sharks and monster jewfish. Kingfish, permit, snapper, grouper and barracuda can also be caught at certain times of year depending on weather, I run a Skeeter ZX22v bay boat that is designed to fish the shallow back bays and handle a good chop out in the Gulf. As a father of 5 kids I know all about patience. Little kids to seasoned pros are all welcome at Naples Inshore Fishing. All my charters have the same goals, catch fish, have fun, and keep everyone safe and happy.

Heck of a time with Captain Chris. For starters, we had one heck of a windy day, yet Chris was able to find some calm spots in the bay and canals. We caught over 30 fish in our 4 hours with him. Was a perfect experience for my Dad, wife, 5 year old son and I. Can't wait to go catch more with him the next time we are down in Naples.

Took a half day trip backwater fishing and Chris delivered! 38 inch snook plus plenty of others as well as 2 huge red fish and nice sized fighter yellow tails.
We also landed a seagull and almost had an eagle ray land in the boat. We missed 2 more giant snook in the mangroves but it was great to see them jumping. He knew where the fish were and we all had an awesome time. Will be using him again.

We booked a fishing day with Chris Friday, March 15th. Sunny but windy with a recent cold front. Bad conditions. Instead of picking us for a boat ride only, he'd prefered to cancel the day. I'm not a Spring chicken in South fishing. Many other guide would taken us on the water with no chances of catching fish only to collect the cash. Not Chris, he behaved himself like a real gentleman. Thanks Chris

I've been out with Chris twice this season and have 2 more trips scheduled over the next 2 weeks. Chris is the ultimate professional plus he's fun to fish with! He listened to what we wanted to fish for and he put us on the fish. If the fish weren't biting in a particular spot then he moved us to another spot, no sitting around. Both trips were with my wife and various other family members. Chris handled the non-fisherman with the excellence that I've never seen before in a guide. The women caught huge snook & many other fun fighters and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, all because Chris took the time to put them on the fish and then taught them how to fight & land them. Last comment, I desperately wanted to take my son fishing with Chris a couple of weeks ago. The weather was bad and I kept pushing Chris to take us out. Chris tried & tried to reschedule but the weather just wouldn't let up. Chris was right and I was wrong to push. Many other guides would have gladly taken my $$$ and then taken us out to catch 0 fish in bad weather. If I haven't convinced you yet, then contact me directly.....I've been fishing with guides all over the USA & Canada for 35 years....nobody touches Chris, he is the best.

Chris knew exactly where to go and we caught fish all day. I had my two daughters with me aged 4 and 16 and he was awesome at teaching them and letting them BOTH reel them in themselves. It was cold that day and he helped them trudge through to have such an amazing experience. Highly Recommend!!

So I came to visit my girlfriend in Naples and wanted to catch some fish, so I looked on here at all the "deals" and the groupon for fishing (don't do that, seriously, you get what you pay for)
I just so happened to get a excursion planned with Chris, this being my first fishing charter, I was nervous, but Chris was so professional. No deposit, and told me if the weather didn't work-- he wouldn't just take me out to make money. He wanted to put us on the fish! And he did! We caught 30+ snook and I landed a HUGE 35lb Snook as well. We caught our limit for snapper and Chris graciously cleaned them for us after the trip-- we had a great fish fry that night!
Do not hesitate with Chris, I will be contacting him to hopefully go out again the next time I'm in Naples! Chris is the real deal!

Drove down to Naples for a few days to enjoy some beautiful weather! Knowing it was not the best time to fish Tarpon and Snook, we decided to give it a try anyway. After looking around online, we decided to give Chris a call. He told me fishing was better than usual for this time of year and we would most definitly get into the fish. Booked a trip for Sunday morning.

Met Chris at the dock at 5:30am only to find that Chris's boat was having wiring issues and was not able to run the morning trip. Although it was disappointing, Chris was very honest about the issues and extremely apologetic. Mid morning comes along and we get the word from Chris that he was able to fix the problems and rearrange his afternoon plans to get us out on the water (knowing it was our last day in town and we really wanted to do some fishing before we left).

We rescheduled to 3pm in the afternoon. Got to the pier at 2:40 only to find Chris already in the water ready to depart for the trip! Got out 20 minutes early to go catch some bait and were fishing by 3:15! Caught several snook and snapper in the back waters. Then went out for tarpon. Hooked into a nice nurse shark that we lost at the boat then caught a nice tarpon!

Overall a great day with a great captain! Chris is extremely knowledgeable on the fishery and area. We will definitely be coming back to fish with him next time!

A March visit to Naples provided another chance to get on the water with Capt Chris. My son and I had a blast as always catching loads of snook, reds, trout and jacks with Chris. We always learn when we are on the water with Chris, e.g. how to find bait on wrecks & shore lines, how to read the backcountry waterways, how to adjust when conditions necessitate. All of these learnings improve our fishing greatly when we are on the water by ourselves. We had so much fun that we worked in a second trip during the week to maybe bag some early-season big tarpon. Chris located many stud 100# plus tarpon. It was fun working a variety of presentations to these bruisers, but the big guys were a little tentative on the bite that day and no fish were landed. Sometimes you learn more on a trip when the fish are reluctant to bite (some new knots, rigs, lures, presentations, gear tips) than you do when you crush them all on one technique. So we left the stud tarpon for our May trip and closed out this trip catching a nice assortment of nook, reds, trout and suicidal jacks. Highly Recommend, life is too short to not be on the water fishing back country
