Growing up in Naples was very nice; however, the snowbirds have discovered the area and ruined it. The shops and restaurants on 5th Ave S are expensive and cater to the tourist trade. We avoid the area especially in the winter when the snowbirds are in town. We long for the old days of before the area was discovered.☹️

Charming beautiful town with wonderful shops and great places to eat and snack. Everyone needs to have a Grace and Shellys cupcake and stop in Best of Everything my sisters favorite store to get good priced hand bags, masks, novelty items and accessories. Stop in at the wonderful Art Galleries as well.

Fifth Avenue is the hub of Naples, Florida. The street is lined with shopping and restaurants that range from fine dining to casual bar style. Once monthly on Thursday night, Evenings on 5th are a special night with live music

A stroll down one side & back on the other you will take you past quality shops and great restaurants. One of our favourite shops is Wind in the willows & a favourite restaurant is Caffé Milano . Civilised shopping & dining in a lovely setting .

Stretching all the way from the terrific Naples beach eastwards this is the rich playground. Although this is not my cup of tea, you cannot be but overwhelmed with the luxurious lifestyle surrounding you.
State of art custom made cars, high end designer shops, lavish dining venues is what you're about to see here. Although we didn't use any of them, we enjoyed our stroll through this area.

5th Ave S is like Rodeo Dr. Wonderful places to eat and great shopping. A must when in Naples There are also coffee shops , boutiques , and a variety on menus. There is also entertainment in the evenings in front of the playhouse.

This is quite a nice place to visit, understated yet upscale. Plenty of high end cars on the road to see as well. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin to name a few, it was like routine, and, you can still get a bottle of water at seven eleven

Fifth Avenue is the place to be. It's full of great places to shop and wonderful places you eat. I highly recommend to take a morning walk here and stop for coffee at any of the locally owned shops. There's always something new to try and the best happy hours later on in the day.
You will find plenty of different styles of Italian cuisines. The hardest part is to choose 1 place to eat. You can find half price menus for early dining before 6pm.
Dress nice and be ready for a good and relaxed time.

I love to walk in an area with boutique shops and 5th Ave will not disappoint! I had fun buying gifts for upcoming events and loved the atmosphere. I especially enjoyed seeing people dine alfresco at all of the wonderful restaurants that line 5th Avenue. Also, watching the many different expensive cars drive through this area was fascinating.

Fifth Avenue South dates back to Florida's land boom years in the 1920's. The road stretches five miles from Tamiami Trail to the Gulf of Mexico in old Naples. Ed Frank's Garage was the first commercial building on the avenue. Ed owned the first car dealership in town and invented the swamp buggy. Other early businesses on the ave included a machine shop, the Chamber of Commerce, the train depot, a telephone company, a pub, gas station, and small shops. Fifth Avenue was the unofficial Main Street in Naples. In the 30's a golf course opening brought more traffic to the area and the 40's saw the opening of Cambier Park. Through the years Naples continued to grow and in the 90's, the Naples Players at Sugdem Community Theater was built, making Fifth Avenue a destination for the arts, music, and culture on
Today on the avenue you will find art galleries, boutiques, hotels, the performing arts center and thirty restaurants and bars.. There is a plenty of free parking on the side streets and at a garage by the performing arts center. In 2010, the Business Improvement District formed to promote the prospering of business on Fifth Avenue South. In addition to shopping and dining I enjoyed discovering the many different sculptures that are part of the Naples Sculpture Walk.
Throughout the year Fifth Avenue hosts many events. During St. Patrick's Day the streets turn green. During the Holidays the street is beautifully decorated. They also hold an event called Art in the Park.
I love so much about Fifth Avenue South, the historic 1920's architecture, the festive holidays decorations, the delicious food, the music, the art, and the fun shopping. There is so much to see, do, and eat here. This is destination you will want to add to any trip to Naples.

Within easy walking distance just east of Fifth Avenue. There's also a pathway under 41 so that you can visit the Bayfront area, which has the Cabana Bar and several nice eateries and pubs.

Why are Naplles FL fun specific public events SO HARD TO FIND ONLINE? We have come to Naples for years and general info is worse each year! It seems one must just KNOW where and when to go. Are we missing the proper website where all public events are listed? For example, we know Third Thursdays on Third St. But WHEN ARE 5thSt streetfests? And where are other thursday fests each month? Newspaper listings are inconsistent and not all on one list. Often newspaper just reports the fun the DAY AFTER IT ALREADY HAPPENED! Very frustrating. Often we find things generally listed on a website with NO DETAILS OF A DATE AND TIME!! Or click on an event and are greeted by a message that says: No information on this event! Naples is fabulous, but somebody PLEASE create a way for residents and visitors to know where to go and WHEN!!! We cind most events only through word of mouth! Not efficient.

Before I go anywhere I always check here first. When I find something, if thete is a website I check there for more info. I do agree with You, there is nothing thst informs you of the goings on. Naples just didn't do it for us this time. Not a go back to place for us.

What time are the shops generally open to in Saturday & Sunday on Fifth Ave in Naples?
Written April 8, 2016
During "season" on Saturday they generally are open until 8pm. Some stay open until 9pm. Sundays it varies per store or gallery. Most are open until 5 ish but some don't open st all. In off season its a different story. It's best to call ahead to check hours especially if you are traveling any distance. Happy shopping.
