Captain Tim was generous providing an earlier than scheduled start for bait fish. Being a novice with my two teenage beginners, Captain Tim knew his locations and how to get fish on our hooks. Snooks, Snappers, Jacks, Grouper, aplenty! The teens are ready to fish everyday especially my daughter. For beginner, her casts were spot-on per the tutorage of Captain Tim. We took home enough Snapper fillets, heads, and tails for several days of fish stew! Definitely will check out Captain Tim Daugherty and “Fish The Salt” our next jaunt in Marco Ialand.

Spent a half day with Captain Tim in the back waters around Marco Island. Caught lots of fish and enough keepers for dinner tonite. Knowledgeable Captain, moved us around to take advantage of the tides and keep us on fish throughout the morning. Highly recommended, and we’re spoiled brats!

Tim is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and patient. We had two novice fisherman on our trip and he explained things well and we caught probably 40 fish.
Most of the fish were not keeper size, but we were having fun. He filleted them and we had them for supper that night.

My husband and I are new to Naples and have really wanted to take a fishing charter before our daughter is born in less than 2 months. The waters of Naples and Marco Island are amazing and so clean and it is the perfect place to go backwater fishing. I found Captain Tim's website and then saw his awesome reviews here on TripAdvisor. Wow, we were not disappointed! From the first time I spoke to him on the phone, I knew it would be a fantastic day with him as our guide.

We met Tim at 7:30 am on the southern tip of Marco Island and were off within minutes! We started fishing in the mangroves and reeled in quite a number of Snook and snapper. Then we went to see the abandoned dome houses (must see) and fished off a sandy island for a bit. It seemed everywhere we went we were catching one Snook after another and quite a few Jacks.
My husband and I really enjoyed fishing with Tim. He is very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. Great personality and very willing to teach as we went through the day.

We are looking forward to another day with him soon! Highly recommend!!

Most of my salt water fishing experiences have been less than memorable. Sure there was a lot of time with our lines in the water but often not much catching of fish. This outing raised our averages nicely.

Captain Tim was ready and waiting when we arrived on time for our morning trip through the backwaters near Marco Island. We roamed several bays and channels reeling in crevalle jack, snook, and redfish, along with the occasional mangrove snapper. Captain Tim maintained a good pace in the search for enough redfish to supply our evening meal. While we had a lot of line action, the redfish keepers were hard to come by.

Captain Tim guided our fishing technique to suit the domain he obviously knows well. The result was a fun morning with enough action to bring us back hopefully for another successful catching experience in the not too distant future.

Oh, one word to the wise, don't be surprised if you encounter Florida's infamous noseeums, as we did, among the mangroves. They forced us out of one location but luckily Captain Tim was ready with the bug repellent and quick to lose the suckers as we sped to a new location.

Captain Tim was great and put us on the fish. Our first stop Captain Tim went over how to fish the area we would be in, and while I know alot about fishing I didn't really know much about saltwater fishing so this was helpful. My wife and I were were catching fish within minutes of casting our first time. We were catching tons of snapper, snook, trout, jack, redfish, and even an occasional mackeral. I just about caught a grand slam at the first spot, if I could have gotten a tarpon I would have accomplished it. Remember we are still at the first spot and the sun is barely coming over the horizon. We caught so many fish before the day was over our arms were sore. I also noticed through the day other captains were calling Tim to find out where the fish were biting. Tim also pointed us to Capri Fish House to have our catch cooked, which was great. Cant wait to go back and try the fly fishing next time.

We had an amazing time fishing this morning! Have fished for years in freshwater lakes, but this was a totally different experience. Captain Tim is a great instructor for all levels, encouraging, patient and very knowledgeable. We caught all kinds of fish: red fish, snook, lady fish, barracuda, jack fish, and even trout. So glad we went on this excursion!!

Captain Tim provided us with the opportunity of a lifetime. We lost track of the number of fish we caught. Snook, red fish, lady fish and trout in droves. We even had a bull shark on line. Simply fantastic! We will make this a part of any future Florida trips. Thank you again for a fantastic time!
