Not what we expected, was a little disappointed there was not more to see. Shops are very small and not a lot of them. Didn’t find any antique shops. Will not make another trip down

There are some shops here if you are into shopping/souvenirs....some restaurants/bars. We didn’t buy anything here -spent maybe 30 min here. Free parking but also free parking at the Naples fl info/visitor center about 1-2 blk away where the trolley leaves from their first stop

Visiting Naples (7 Replies)
We're staying in Marco for a week at the end of July. 4 adults and 4 teens from the UK. Grateful for any advice. We plan on visiting Naples a couple of times. Once by boat and once by car. I'm looking for some tips to make the most of the two opportunities. The boat trip will be in our rental and up the intercoastal. My simple plan is go early, to stop at or near Tin City and do some retail and lunch and return. Conscious we might hit afternoon downpours and not keen to be stuck in the...More

Hi. Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Boating to Tin City is very popular and can be done but be advised a lot of Naples Bay and the back water is a slow speed zone which can make it a time consuming event. I'm sure you won't be in a hurry so you can sit back and enjoy the views but if you get caught in a storm it can make for a sloppy experience. Tin City is very casual and wildly popular with tourists. I personally do not recommend Tin City to my out of town guests but that's...More

Arriving on 22nd, for 3 days which we may extend to five days, staying at the Cove Inn. 1) Being from Scotland, I am used to rain! What can we expect, just a few heavy showers per day, or continuous (like here!) 2) Plan trips to Marco island, FM Beach and Sanibel possibly, anywhere else within a few hours that I should do? Arriving from Miami and will have a look at the Everglades on the way. 3) Areas for bars/restaurants within walking distance of the Cove Inn? I have heard about...More

Hi, Loads of places in to eat/drink on 5th and 3 Ave, not all pricey but good value and great food, Taxi's aren't expensive !! Some places can get booked up some worth making a reservation ie Tommy Bahama's Loads of great shopping, and I know it's a chain but we love The Cheesecake Factory, it's not a chain to us as we don't have them over here lol, Happy hours are really good value and if you like wine the choice is excellent. Enjoy your holiday, hope you get to see the Dolphins at the...More

We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys -21 months and just turn 4 years old. We will be in Naples for 4 nights and Sanibel island for 3 nights. Our trip will start within a week. While in Naples we are planning a day trip to Shark Valley, and another day trip to Marco island. I was thinking it might be nice to take a boat tour during our trip, but what location is best? There are quite many to choose from. Options - boat from Tin City in Naples, a boat out from Marco island, Boat tour...More

Tarpon bay would be boring for little ones. At least mine were bored. Captiva cruises are excellent, and work well for kids as pine sound is shallow and calm. The dolphin or shelling cruise would be your best bet.
