The 2.5 hour manatee viewing eco tour is the only local eco tour that starts in the heart of the Everglades, and takes only minutes to get to the 10,000 Islands and the Gulf of Mexico. The tour is located at the home of South Florida's largest herd of manatees. Viewing the eco system of the Everglades in the comfort of a covered boat is a true Everglades experience. You are likely to see manatees, alligators, dolphins, and turtles, as well as many species of rare and endangered tropical birds. Some of the tropical birds species are the Ibis, Egret, Great Blue Heron, Osprey, Pelican, and the American Bald Eagle. The tour is fully narrated by knowledgeable local Captains and their boats are stable, comfortable and USCG approved. You'll learn interesting facts on the manatee, alligator, dolphin, and tropical bird species, along with information on the Everglades. Our 3 hour Manatee Ecotour/Shelling Adventure is rapidly becoming Double R's most popular tour. This excursion has all of the elements of the shorter tour but includes a 30 minute stop at a deserted island called Whitehorse Key where our guests depart the boat for 30 minutes of shelling and exploring.

Really great tour in beautifull surroundings with an excellent tour guide. Were lucky enough to experience manatees, dolphins and an alligator. I recommend this tour to everyone who wants to see the mangrove vegetation and exiting sea and bird wildlife.

Best tour, managed and run by the best people. Add beautiful weather, an island stop which included sea turtle nest sites, great company and incredibly knowledgeable captains and my birthday boy had a perfect day. IF you go on only one boat tour, this should be it.

Although summer, Mike, our captain, was able to find an alligator (10 feet long!), a manatee (an estimated 1,000 pounds), many dolphins, and a deserted island beach with hundreds of beautiful shells. It was a fantastic trip and well worth the price paid. Captain Mike was very informative and told us interesting tidbits of information along the way.

The Captain ( I believe was Mike) was absolutely fantastic and well-informed. The boat was comfortable and quiet. A great chance to really see south Fl nature up close. We watched manatee, saw dolphin jump and even a sunning Florida gator. Much quieter and many more photos than the Air Boat Tours. Highly recommended for photographers, families and anyone interested... More

Really great tour guide, both passionate about the wildlife and very knowledgeable about the area. Saw an alligator at the very beginning and proceeded to see dolphins, manatees, and bull-sharks. Stopped at a deserted island during the trip as well. Definitely worth the price!!!

Great day of fishing & fun! Captain Jim did a great job with keeping twin 17 year olds on the fish. Bummer winds picked up couldn't go out in the gulf, but none the less we had a great time. Thanks again Captain Jim!

Captain Tim was very knowledgeable about the mangrove forests, the ecosystem as well as the history of the development of the area. We enjoyed lovely weather, good conversation and searching for shells on the "pirate hideaway island". Our tour provided us with up close and personal views of manatees, alligators, dolphins and many native bird species. Bring sunscreen and watch... More

We have taken Double R tours on 5 occasions. All have been enjoyable for everyone. We have done 2 manatee tours. 2 shelling/Eco tours and a fishing tour. We have seen manatees every time. We have also seen sea turtles & Dolphins. If you want to get out onto the water this is the way to go. Thank you again... More
