Rented a tandem Kayak from Rising Tide explorers. They were incredibly helpful in dropping it off at a convenient locataion as scheduled. They also helped with getting it set up on my car and providing any accessories you needed. The Kayak performed well in heavy wind/surf and was quite comfortable. It was also a great valute for the money! I would recommend Rising Tide for any kayak rental you may be considering and will definitey use them again ourselves.

I wanted to see the mangroves and wetland area next to the Everglades in a non-invasive way where we could get immersed in the environment and not scare the wildlife. A kayak tour seemed perfect for that.

Our guide was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic graduate student and most of the participants were families.

We did get to see birds that were unbothered by our presence, including an osprey hunting fish right before us. The stops to explain the estuary ecosystem were rewarding- I recommend sticking by the guide so you can ask questions and hear the answers. Our guide also found other marine life around us that I never would have noticed.

For someone with any kayak or canoe experience it was not physically difficult, but the 2-person kayaks seemed to have some issues with coordination and most lagged behind. My 70+ parents also found the 2.5 hour tour tiring whereas I would have been happy to see more. I hope to come back and try the other tours that are offered.

Me, my wife, our daughter and two teenage grandchildren did the three hour boat tour and Ryan was our guide.
The three hours went by very quickly as Ryan was exceptionally knowledgeable and entertaining. He talked for the entire time and could answer all our questions in a fashion that made it understandable. We learned a tremendous amount about the area, environment and eco system. It was well worth the expense and our time.

What a great day! Winston (our guide) was a fund of information on every pertinent topic on the day. When he saw that several in our group were into birds and photography, he went out of his way to position the boat to allow them optimal shots. He followed the birds, the dolphins wherever they led. The dolphins responded by putting on such a show for us, breaching repeatedly and playing nearby. It was a delight. So wonderful to be out on the water with someone who was living his dream and sharing it with us.

Ryan was great. He delivered and picked up the kayak rentals as promised and provided great information regarding the area. He even gave us great places to have lunch after our kayak trip. I highly recommend using Rising Tide Explorers for you next adventure as I will be using them again and again for our group. They also offer great tours as well.

We took our son and 16 year old grandson to lots of holiday events and experiences this week, but the one they (and we) enjoyed the most was our sunset boat ride to bird island! Claire was a wonderful captain and her enthusiasm and knowledge made the time even better. Our grandson was thrilled to spot an eagle on a nest and a frigate bird, in addition to all the others. We even got to say Merry Christmas to a couple of dolphins! We can't recommend this activity more highly to any and all who want to be amazed by a beautiful sunset cruise and a bird spectacular!

5 of us took the kayak sunset tour it was a wonderful experience paddling through the estuary, through the mangroves. We learned so much from Renee and Helen about the history of the area and the wildlife that is indigenous to the area. We saw dolphins and several varieties of pelicans and other birds. The kayaks were very safe and comfortable for the 2.5 hour trip. Several of us were not experienced in kayaking we all felt very safe with our guides! The sunset was an incredible and unforgettable experience from our kayaks! Can’t wait to see the pictures!

This was a great way to spend a morning. Our guide Rick was was a biologist with so much knowledge of the entire ecosystem and an easy, engaging manner. From giving us basic kayaking tips to keeping an eye on everyone in our diverse group, both guides were very attentive and set an enjoyable pace. I highly recommend.

Highly qualified and motivated staff communicated complex topics in a fun and engaging way. Safety a priority and I felt I was in capable hands. I'm a former biologist and am so glad I went on this tour. Learned tons, enjoyed my time.

The Sunset Rookery Tour was fantastic. Our guides were very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, and just so passionate about their work. The boat was really comfortable and the wildlife was abundant! We learned so much about the area, and the efforts locals have made toward protection of the land and wildlife. I’ve never seen anything like the rookery. It was incredible to see all these species of birds congregating in one spot. I felt like i was in some David Attenborough narrated nature documentary. I highly recommend this for anyone interested in wildlife and perfect Florida sunsets.

What an adventure you had! We're very happy that you could have a David Attenborough experience by watching the sun set over the beautiful everglades. We look forward to another paddle with you again soon!
