I have been here twice. Both times I felt the customer service really was quite poor. You aren't acknowledged at all. I asked about an item on the counter that appeared to be for sale (price) and was abruptly told it was not for sale, and then the gentleman just walked away. There is a wide variety of items. Prices were ok. However, due to the atmosphere, I have no desire to return.

I went into the mall looking for a piece of furniture to display my collectible items. The owner's husband promptly informed me that most of the dealers there really do not want to sell their furniture, even the ones who have furniture listed for sale. I asked him for a best price on one piece and he said only 10% off but once again informed me that the owner really did not want to sell this piece unless it was for the high price that it was listed for. When I asked about another piece, he said if I paid $1,000 he would sell it but that otherwise it was not really for sale. Really? Not even a call to the owner of the piece to ask for a price? Terrible customer customer service. I felt like I was in a used car lot. The rest of the things in there were pretty much junktiques. I had the strange feeling that the really great things that the dealers bring in get cherry picked by those who run the place and sold on eBay.

Allow plenty of time to view all that this mall has to offer-figure 3 hours or so. There is so much to look at from furniture to small fine antiques. We all found some treasures to take home with us. Reasonable prices too.

My girlfriend and I love to browse and go antique shopping so while in Mt. Dora, we headed over to Highland Street and found this incredible village/mall of collectibles and antiques... It was packed with room after room of marvelous finds... We spent over 2 hrs. had lunch and then came back and spent the rest of the afternoon. Our treasures were not expensive and the owners were very friendly and knowledgeable too. I can't wait to go back again.

This antique mall is located as the beacon to the quaint town of Mt. Dora, FL. It is a huge, well thought out space full of antiques and other unique treasures with something for everyone. Owners Laura and Guy make you feel welcome and at home in their store. They are a wealth of information if you want to know the vintage/age of a piece, its authenticity, etc. and they relay that information in a nice, positive teaching way. Whether you are looking to buy a unique antique or a groovy nostalgic piece for yourself, if you are there to buy and resell, or if you want to sell them one of your former treasures, this is the place to find it (no matter what your age)! I highly recommend a visit.

We enjoyed scanning the many aisles of unique and interesting items here! Only had time to walk the perimeter of the store-will return to see the rest, as we are just browsing for the most part. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and I enjoyed this huge variety of items to see over other types of common shops.

We visited this shop after a poor experience at Renninger's, and were pleasantly surprised. Though we did not find anything to buy on this trip, there was certainly a wide selection of antiques and collectibles, which were displayed well. They even had free cookies for shoppers when you walk in! The staff were friendly and helpful. We only wished we could have found something that piqued our interest. Maybe next time!

Apparently, my last review of the Village Antique Mall was TOO glowing as I see now, it was never published. They are not relatives or friends. Just great storekeepers: The competition: Rettinger's is only open weekends....the Village Antique Mall is open, pretty much, ALL the time. "Laura & Guy" are an adorable (what I call) 'Hippie Couple' that do a great job running this great "little?"( see other review) Antique Co-op. It's an old food market store (10,000+ sq. ft.!) converted to booth after booth of Antiques blessed with Air Conditioning (Rettinger's Antique Extravaganza's are for the most part all OUTSIDE, while the big building houses the 'regular' tenant Antique Shop Keepers. ). This building houses, what seems like 200 booths, owned by 190(?) different people and vendors. I have been shopping / buying there since 1998, way before, I even moved to town in 2001. I personally think they have the best buys and a fabulous selection of just about every kind of antique : furniture, vintage clothing/hats, stain glass, pottery, books, signs, all sorts of glass (Lalique & occasionally Tiffany), EVERY kind of antique or collectible imaginable. Yes, there's always that garage sale junk that creeps in but, nothing like the average alleged "Antique Store" of nowadays. I have purchased MANY of the items for our Museum Gift Shop 'General Store' there and many decor items for our classic cars like Steamer Trunks, Signs, some rare auto options, even birthday / Christmas gifts, mirrors, vintage store displays, antique radios, Cola merchandise, Taxi Driver Caps, and an electric guitar. "Guy" is a talented musician and can counsel your resident Eric ClapTone on buying everything from a used guitar to lava lamp and save you a fortune. "Laura" is a qualified Jewelry Expert and has vast knowledge of many antiques as well. I see her at estate sales and auctions in Mount Dora skillfully buying treasures all the time.
Ladies, check your bags at the entrance into a personal locker- pilfering is always a problem at any better Antique Store and these folks work way too hard to loose it to a common thief. I'd say Best Antique Store within 50 miles ~ decent prices, great selection. Despite the fact they have been "too busy" for 11 years to visit our business practically across the street...I give them a hearty 'Thumbs Up" !

Friendly, reasonable prices and worth the trip. I asked about food and was given a health bar—WOW. Variety—something for everyone

Good antiques from the past and plenty to choose from for all ages. We really enjoyed the visit here and made a few purchases for the holiday décor.
