This old depot has been transformed into a quaint museum with authentic railroad memorabilia, nostalgia photos and posters, interesting rail cars -- a Pullman, dining car, flat car and two cabooses. This is a free museum with very helpful volunteers who can answer most questions. The grounds are well kept and the rail cars continually being restored. It's a popular field trip site for school kids. Plenty of room for young kids to run and climb and interesting enough reading materials for more scholarly visitors. Definitely a step back in time and a nice museum for a small town. For it's location, friendliness and upkeep I have rated it highly. Railroad aficionados will enjoy it as well as history buffs.

Have rented the diner car several times for retirement parties, card parties and even a rehearsal dinner. Everyone loves it and the price is right!

We came to this small railroad museum in Milton to spend some local time. There are a few very well preserved rail cars to view and a well displayed station and buildings to tour. Not much but then they only ask for a donation. There is a minature train village set up at the rear of the property but is separate from the museum and also asks for donations. It is well worth the i/2 hour it takes to view the exhibit.

These guys really deserve your support. A small museum next to the railway that was so important in the history of the area. Run by a group of very keen volunteers who are both passionate and knowledgeable on their subject.

station, communications equipment, signaling, model railroad, dining car, cabooses, a taste of racial segregation and how it was expressed in the architecture.... A children’s railroad. We had a personalized tour from Richard who was prepared to tell us anything we wanted to know about railroading in the US. Thanks, Richard!

Well worth the trip for the whole family.

A historic RR depot with lots of memorabilia, a small gift shop, very limited hours. Telegraph office where kids of all ages can test their skills, Railway Express carts, old signs.
An outdoor model RR "garden" with 3 train routes running thru appropriately landscaped (not sure about the King Kong on the RR Bridge?) open raised terrain featuring local business/industry models. I'm not into model train scale, but these were larger. A kid-size train circles the area and offers kiddie rides. There is an often active mockingbird nest in a RR relic (post with open-capped thingy) to your right as you enter the garden and the cab from a dismantled steam engine being used as a storage shed.

We had a great visit.

My husband is a L & N Railroad fan so he loved this place. We are staying in Pensacola, only room is about 40 minutes to get here. In a quaint small town.

For a free museum (but do please donate!) you can't beat it in the county. Staffed by a group of volunteers who all have a true passion for trains and model trains, the dedication they have is obvious. The collection includes two cabooses that you can fully walk around in, a dining car, a freight car, and plenty of old train support equipment housed in a century old train depot that kids of all ages are sure to enjoy. Adults may find the local history of the rail interesting - there was sure a lot more than I previously thought!
