Be aware! Scam plus an extremely rude representative.

I’ve booked a lesson online and paid it full. When I tried to book a lesson over messages (because it was impossible to get a hold of anyone over the phone), the guy has responded that once he get to his computer he can issue a refund. That was already odd, because I’ve never asked for it. I still tried to book the lesson but then realized that it is better to get a refund. The guy barely made any sense, using unprofessional language, writing messages with many typos (although he is a native English speaker) and seemed to be confused.
When I’ve asked him for a refund, he started blaming on PayPal why he cannot proceed it. When I called and he finally answered, he started screaming at me, using phrases such as „you sweets“, „listen to me“, etc. Whatever the situation was with the Paypal if it was, he didn’t try calling the customer support or try to investigate the issue. He didn’t follow up and didn’t try to resolve it next days either.
Additionally, Miami kite surfing requires IKO certification. When I asked him about it, he said it is not necessary (which is false). He gets away with it by using a boat. This way he can teach people in open waters where he cannot be checked. However, in the future the person won’t be able to kite from a shore without the proper certification as it is usually done.

I advise that you look elsewhere for a positive learning environment.

I advise that you look elsewhere for a better chance at a conducive learning environment. Called to discuss lessons and the person on the phone was polite enough. As soon as I said I would like to call to check other deals in the area he said he was now booked and hung up on me. I called back and questioned him about his approach and stated it was not good business and he was unapologetic and quite condescending. FYI, the two other business I called in his area had similar prices had no issues with me looking for the best deal and fit for my lesson. As a ski instructor I know that private lessons are all about the relationship.

Excellent lesson

I was able to schedule a kitesurfing lesson with George, just north for Miami Beach in Surfside, which is close to my house. It was a private lesson off the beach and I found him to be very competent in teaching me to use the kite in a safe manor while having fun and having it drag you thru the water. He brought 2 kites and a few boards, and I switched to a bigger kite mid lesson. I had a great time and can't wait to go again. While this was not technically my first lesson, my first one was 10 years ago with almost no wind (at Crandon) and no one was keeping their kites up. This lesson was much more fun and I can't wait to do it again. I'd love to try it from the boat!

I called this fellow up (it seemed like there was only one individual with this company but I may be wrong) and he was pretty well wide open for lesson times - it seemed like I was his only booking for the week and this was during my March spring beak. He has a nice set-up in that he takes you out on a jet-boat but that is where the good points end. The boat looked very old and uses oil. He had a box of oil bottles and filled the engine with it with oil while I was out on the water. We started off low on gas and he asked if I had some cash so I could pay for fuel. The kiteboarding equipment is old. The kite was OK but the harness looked 10 years old and the board looked similar. There were no life jackets on the boat that I could see and he didn't have one for me to wear while kiteboarding (honestly!!). I thought he was rude and sarcastic and he insulted me numerous times. I had to remind him a number of times that I was a beginner and that I was trying my best but the insults and rude comments continued. For the last hour my instructor played with the kite (because the wind was light) and got the lines all tangled. I felt we were sitting there waiting for the time to pass just so he could say we were out for a full 3 hour lesson. After enough time passed he packed things up and we returned to the boat launch. The wind was way too light for the next 2 lessons so the instructor cancelled them (I was very happy about this as if I canceled them, I would have lost my entire deposit). Although I paid for a 3 day/lesson package but only received one lesson, I have still not received a partial refund (and it has been almost 3 weeks since I had a lesson with him). After 1-2 weeks I contacted George via texts and he apologized for his tardiness, but almost 1 week later and I still haven't received a partial refund!! (I had to block him from texting me as his return texts were sarcastic). I am in the process of filing a dispute with Paypal and with Visa just to be sure I get a partial refund. I am depending on Paypal for my refund as it doesn't appear to be coming from this company voluntarily. As you can tell, I had a very poor experience with this company. I certainly won't go again and would warn anyone about going with this company. I see that there was only one reviewer before me which may be because this fellow isn't very busy - I wonder why?? I went with another company in the Miami area over Christmas break (one based in Crandon Park) and they were legitimate and friendly - go there or with a different legit company. I thought I would try someone else the next time and went with this fellow - Please don't make the same expensive mistake!!
