I have been diving with Captain Robert Arnove and RJ Diving Ventures since 1987. I used his operation for my certification classes in Miami. RJ recently sold the boat and has closed down the business. This is the end of an era and he and Captain Mike Beach will be surely missed. All good things come to an end. To me, this is the end of an incredible diving era that was amazing. It is bittersweet but inevitable.

Smooth sailing and very professional team. The boat supplies beverages and a great crew to make your trip smooth. They also triple check people and have their own system so don't worry about getting left behind like in that movie. Would recommend

We spent a week in Miami visiting family with a plan to spend 3 days diving. Well, the wind gods were not with us and we only managed 2 days, as there were small craft warnings flying. Our first day of diving we contracted through Ocean Safari and Ani Gonzalez as our guide. Ani wound up taking on extra duty as captain and we had Lisa Mongelia, who works at the History of Diving Museum, as our guide both days. RJ Ventures is a dive boat operation that some of the dive shops in Miami and Miami Beach contract with for their dive trips. The boat is a comfortable 47' Newton custom dive boat. We had a total of 9 divers on board. We had no complaints about the dive operation. We would rate the boat operation as good. Our experience with Ani was great! She was very helpful and communicative, which was important, especially in light of the weather conditions and needing to make go or no go decisions on a daily (almost hourly) basis. We just loved Ani and hope to get underwater with her at some point. Now, I must tell you about Lisa.....Ani called her in to pinch hit as our guide and she was wonderful!!! She sat down with us and walked through a complete dive plan with us. This was the first time we had ever experienced going through a dive plan. She was very thorough and informative. Underwater, she allowed me/us to have the freedom to explore while staying close by and pointing out sights along the way. She also kept a check on us for our air supply. On top of it all, she is a wonderful, warm and friendly person! We were really fortunate that we had her as our guide!!

I booked dives straight from RJ diving with my friend via e-mail. Answers came quick so the dives were reserved. When we got to Miami we went to the harbour to find out where we are suppose to be in the morning. Lucky for us their boat was there. We did not know that there was no shop. Just the boat. The next day we had the dive and pretty soon we found out that RJ was a good choice. Nice and professional staff and the boat was really good. One of the best I've been in. But prior to that we had some doubts.... which were wrong by the way. Although RJ had to cancel two of our diving days due to weather, our experience was still very good. So many thanks to Amy and Ani, the CAPTAIN!! We'll be back!

We recently took this boat out to bury a dear friend at the Neptune Societies Memorial Reef off Miami Beach, Florida. The captain and crew were very accommodating even allowing us to pour red wine (as a toast) over our friends portion of the reef prior to the interment. Afterwards, we still had some time remaining on our boat rental, so he took us on a tour of the harbor and showed us some of the sights. This is the second time I have been on this boat. The first time was in 2007 when I was going for my Advanced Open Water SCUBA Diver rating. Both times the crew were attentive and helpful. The boat is well maintained and clean. A good deal.
