This is one of the highlights of Miami Beach...this great board walk which I walk on for an hour or so every day I am there. You see all sorts of folks...and get a good view of various hotel properties too so you can figure...More
Have walked the length of it from quieter north to the bustling south ... initially provides shade but then opens up. Dog walkers, cyclists, sweaty joggers, people of various religious persuasions and dress style ..you meet life on the boardwalk and its extension .. the...More
If you want to take a break from the beach, this is a great way to do it. We looked at our walk on this boardwalk as our second workout every day of our vacation. A lot of the path is shaded. It is much...More
Great for a stroll and a rear view of the gardens, pools, play areas of the hotels fronting Collins Avenue on one side and beaches on the other. Take care to avoid joggers and cyclists (who shouldn't be cycling on the boards!). Don't trip over...More

Your best bet would be the hotels on Collins Avenue. Most of them have a back access to the beach and the boardwalk for a nice morning stroll. Also if you want to stay in a shopping area, you need to be close to Lincoln Rd. and the open air strip.
There are a few very nice hotels on Collins between 14th and 19th streets. You will have direct access to the beach and the shopping a few steps away. Enjoy it...
Hello! We are heading to Miami for a bachelorette for a weekend this summer and will be staying on the Miami Beach Boardwalk. Group of 4 girls (late 20s, early 30s) and would like recommendations on what to do in Miami! FOOD - any good restaurants, even a buffet? SHOPPING - are the outlets worth it? CLUBBING - looking for a fun club, gay bars especially! And any other advice or fun things to do in Miami over a weekend are appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

I am not "Homophobic" or have anything against gays, but I am bringing my children for a vacation to Miami beach and would prefer to be in a "non-gay" hotel. How do I know which are which, and how open is the gay scene in the public beaches or on the boardwalk? Also, is there more to the Miami Beach boardwalk than clubs? I have been to the boardwalk in Ocean City MD and loved it. I know it didn't have the night life that Miami Beach has, but had the scariest Haunted House I have ever been...More

xcl4u> The atmosphere on Miami Beach is not overtly GAY or STRAIGHT. I am sure there are cities all over the world where same-gender couples do not walk hand in hand for fear of reprisals. If you decide to bring your children to Miami Beach and you do not make a big deal about 2 women or 2 men walking quietly while holding hands (which is about as far as your children may be aware of "gay" behavior) you will have no issue with homophobia. People feel comfortable holding hands here - but...More
