I went with my Wife, our 13yr old son & 10 month old daughter. He is Great at Tours! He was very informative on the art & history of the area, and also knew his food. The tour was Perfect, went to Restaurants we have NEVER visited had it not been for this Food Tour. He was talking to us & our kid, even waiting for us & our Baby. We had a Very Fun time & will return with Friends & Family. Guide is the best & left full! Loved it & will return to Restaurants on next trip! Thanks Stephen

I went with my wife and daughter on a warm Saturday afternoon. If you purchase through Groupon make sure you bring the printed group on paperwork or have it available on your smartphone. Steve is knowledgable about the area, restaurants and food. I've been on other food tours where we did a lot more walking with quick tastes at the restaurants. Steve brought us to places where we got to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant as well as cool off. I definitely plan on going back to Tap Tap and Otentic. Highly recommended.

I went on the tour because of the great reviews it had on trip advisor, however was extremely disappointed as to what I experienced, I believe others don't write terrible reviews because the company says they will follow up on bad reviews in a professional manner etc... this is not a terrible review but an HONEST review.

To begin with I read all the instructions and I did eat breakfast, a heavy one matter of fact, the tour states that tasting at the different restaurants is equivalent to lunch. Ice Cream to start off with is actually not the best place in my opinion, however I enjoyed the ice cream served and we moved onto the next place. We also went for lunch on Saturday 28th June at 11:30am. We arrived at the Haitian restaurant where we sat down and were served appetizers and a mojito. All this was fine, at the American restaurant we were told we would be served cheesecake as well and we did not receive the cheesecake just a poor excuse for bruschetta, I have had much much better.

The bit on the tour that really got to me and what I found disappointing was the ending which was the French restaurant, the tour guide, kept emphasizing that we had to share the food, clearly if there are just a few cheese boards with selected meats, it was quite annoying and irritating that you were not able to take enough on your plate before he grabbed the board and passed it to the other party, it would have been nicer if they had waited for each person to take a decent amount, (I had one slice of salami, could not get the caramelized onions passed over or the mustard and a cube of cheese) Food Tours if they do respond should not tell me about what I had and what I did not have. The quiche was a decent portion but the cheese and meat board disappointing. Lastly the dessert board came out and I was extremely offend when the tour guide came out to me and told me off for not sharing the desserts. Now, he did not mention anything about sharing desserts, six desserts on each board and there are 15 people, I saw about four people take one for themselves and followed, there was no knife to cut or share anything at first and to pay $45 for this was ridiculous and if anyone paid the $85 value they truly got ripped off. At least three dessert boards could have been ordered and not just two if this is meant to be a tasting. He was telling me off for taking one dessert, I mean its a bit ridiculous if me and my partner are sharing the one dessert, which was a small cream puff.

After that I was truly fed up with the deceptive tour and left early and went to find a pizza store because this does not fill you up. BEWARE, you will be hungry after, it says eat a light breakfast, please eat a heavy one. Also the restaurants that we went to on the tour were all low class restaurants, most of the food was bland, and not that enjoyable. Its best to just research good restaurants in Miami and go and taste a different on each day rather than the tour. Its a bit expensive for the tiny amount of food received, and there is hardly any meats involved, mostly breads, if thats not your thing, forget it.

We welcome all feedback from our customers, and never have intimidated individuals from expressing their opinions about our tours, but need to point out some inaccuracies in this review. We choose to start the tour at a Gelato shop due to its proximity to other restaurants; if we chose to end here it would add an extra ½ mile of walking on a summer day in Miami. This was a Gelato shop which is not ice cream but is an Italian frozen dessert that is noted for being creamier and lower in calories, sugar and fat, which was explained on the tour this day. At the third stop cheesecake was never promised to the guests on the tour, the guests were informed that we would be receiving bruschetta. During the introduction to this restaurant it was mentioned that they are known for their cheesecake, bruschetta, and fondue, but these items were not promised as the menu for the tour. Finally, prior to arrival at the French restaurant it was explained to our guests that we would be receiving several sampling platters for ALL our guests to SHARE (the platters included 4 each of the following: French meat and cheese, French quiche, and French desserts) and clean utensils were provided to the guests following each course. In a situation with sampling platters most treat it like being at a cocktail party where they take a small sampling and then can get more from the platter if they are still hungry, verses loading up a plate with food before other guests have an opportunity to take one bite. Also there was plenty of food left over at the French restaurant after this individual decided to leave the tour so it inaccurate to claim there was not enough food and they leave early without staying until the end of the tour. While we do appreciate true, honest feedback from our guests, please look at the history of this individual on TripAdvisor, whom’s reviews are all of a negative nature. We have mostly positive reviews on TripAdvisor and suggest these reviews be noted too.

Food and restaurants were excellent. If you're doing the tour just to eat, this is for you. We spent the right amount of time at each restaurant and I felt the portions were good and I did not leave hungry.

Tour guide, Andy, left much to be desired. More training is needed here. His girlfriend tagged along on the tour, and 90% of his time was spent devoted to her. I think she got the VIP personal tour while the rest of us tagged along like quiet lost ducklings. It was very unprofessional and awkward. Felt like a 3rd wheel on their date. I expected to learn more about the significance of the food and restaurants and even the sights on our walk between the restaurants we went to, but very little info was given, since Andy sat at a separate table with his girlfriend and only talked to her until we got to the last restaurant.

I've been on a lot of food tours around the country and I would rate this one a 2 for tour guide and 4 for the food, averaging out to a 3 overall.

Ok so I am not a food critic and I don't know much about food but my partner is quite the culinary fanatic and she went out of her way to research and pick this food tour because of the great reviews. HOWEVER this was very very very far from anything exciting.

We first started at 4D Gelato where we were served "Gelato" (Italian for ice cream...some might argue a healthier version) which I enjoyed because I am an ice cream addict haha. They had many flavors which you were allowed to taste and then you were served a small cup.

Moving along, our next destination was a Hatian restaurant where we were served some Plat Frittay (to share) and a mojito (luckily not to share). Here we were given extensive lessons on the artwork in the restaurant which was nice.

Then we were off again in the blazing heat being given history lessons about the area, which was not completely a bad thing. I for one like learning more about places that are completely foreign to me. We then got to the American restaurant where we were served "bruchetta"...like I said earlier I am not a food person so it turns out it was bread and some tomatoes. The little piece of bread was ok but once our tour guide announced we were leaving to the last restaurant soon after it dawned on me that we had visited 3 of the 4 restaurants and I have only had a small cup of "gelato," 2 pieces of "Frittay" and a small piece of bread. So I started asking myself how exactly am I going to be full by the end of this tour.

On to the last spot, a french restaurant. We (all 15 of us on this tour) sat round the bar and were presented with 3 meat platters, again to share. For what its worth it was decorated nicely, however it was clear that it would be impossible for everyone to taste a bit of everything because frankly it wasn't going to feed everyone. My partner, like I mentioned is a culinary fanatic so she enjoys tasting these things...salami, cheese whatever, so she asked the tour guide if he could pass along some items on the board but his attitude was rude, pointing out that its for everyone to share. Eventually she was able to get something to nibble on but it was clear at this point what we were receiving was not value for money. Next came the quiche which was decent and lastly the dessert...oh the dessert.

All those pictures you see up here is what you get however there are only two platters to share between 15 people. I saw some parties pick one desert to split amongst themselves and so my partner picked a cream puff for us to split and the "almighty tour guide" approached her in the rudest way saying its all for sharing. At this point she was irritated and hungry, I was irritated and hungry so we gathered our belongings and left for a slice of pizza.

Do not get me wrong there isn't anything wrong with all four restaurants we visited. The french restaurant at the end was really nice. The food they had looked lovely. It is the food tour that my problem lies with. They say eat a light breakfast because your going to be full. Everyone burned more calories than they consumed walking all that distance for so little food. I heard more about the city of Miami than I got to eat.

IN MY OPINION its not worth the money I paid for all be it I paid half price because we found a deal on Groupon. I hope others who enjoyed the tour would take the time to write an opposing review so those who are on the fence can make a good decision. I wish the company all the best.

P.S Learn to take constructive criticism.

We welcome all feedback from our customers, but need to point out some inaccuracies in this review. First and foremost this person is same person as Vanessa W from the United Kingdom. This person Oyihoma S just created another account using another name and has been reported. Beware of this review as not being honest. The food tours are all samplings at different restaurants and some places everyone shares off of several plates. The second stop participants were actually provided AKRA served with a Watercress sauce (Malanga Fritters) to share and an award winning Haitian style mojito. At the third stop the guests were informed that we would be tasting a sampling of the famous bruschetta that is offered. The bread that was served is actually always one piece along with a small bowl of bruschetta (see pictures posted by other tour participants). Finally, prior to arrival at the French restaurant it was explained to our guests that we would be receiving several sampling platters for ALL our guests to SHARE (the platters included 4 each of the following: French meat and cheese, French quiche, and French desserts) and clean utensils were provided to the guests following each course/sampling as needed. In a situation with sampling platters most treat it like being at a cocktail party where they take a small sampling and then can get more from the platter if they are still hungry, verses loading up a plate with food before other guests have an opportunity to take one bite. Also there was plenty of food left over at the French restaurant after this individual decided to leave the tour so it inaccurate to claim there was not enough food and they left early without staying until the end of the tour. While we do appreciate true, honest feedback from our guests, please look at the history of this individual on TripAdvisor, who's only review is this one besides under the name Vanessa W. We have mostly positive reviews on TripAdvisor and suggest these reviews be noted too. Please see all the pictures post by others and us for any clarification.

Came down to Miami for a concert and to have fun with my girls. We saw the deal on groupon and thought it would be a great way to taste diff flavors of Miami well the tour started off at a gelato place---def didnt want that to be the first thing I ate. Next we went to a restaurant to have a mojito an were served small portions of appetizers to SHARE with 11 people. Then we went to a hot spot on south beach & was served bruschetta---the last place we were told we were getting a 3 course meal which was a joke. OVERALL not worth the $40 or $85 value it claims. The tour guide didn't really know much info--could've saved my money.

We first want to thank you for taking your time to write a review on our company. Second we are sorry about your experience. Thirdly you have given us no choice but to write about your specific experience which was very apparent during the tour. We have not had to date a dissatisfied customer from the start until your experience. The way we know this is because of the great reviews we have been fortunate to have and we had a guest on the Food Tour who had been with us before as a repeat and noted your behavior. The guide was reported to be very friendly no matter how angry you were. We would like to note that you were angry from the start of the food tour because you didn't eat breakfast and expressed to the tour guide your feelings. We wanted to ask why you told the tour guide when he asked if anyone didn't have breakfast and did everyone get the final email confirmation and you responded "I did not and didn't have time to check my emails"...? Our Food Tours provides a food tour tasting at each place we go to that accumulates to having lunch in about 3hrs. For all reviewers seeing this post and wondering if you should come on a tour with us here is what happened with this individual. She purchased a Groupon on August 16, 2013 which sent her detailed instructions for the Food Tour that took place August 17th explaining it is "highly recommended to have Breakfast prior to tour" and how to redeem her date using our third party ticket company Brown Paper Tickets. When she reserved her spot she was again emailed from Brown Paper Tickets detailing to eat Breakfast prior to tour. Then she received a detailed email from us (which normally takes place 24 hours in advance) confirming meeting location along with the tour guides cell in case anyone gets lost or is late and again explaining it is highly recommended to eat breakfast prior to Food Tour as the food tour is in Lieu of Lunch and starts from 12:00 and goes to apprx 3:00pm. On this particular tour we had tastings that went to an Italian Gelato Restaurant, Haitian Restaurant, American and French Restaurants. We typically go to 4-5 different places depending on restaurant availability. This tour we went to 4 different places with Gelato being served first because it was a very hot day and we had a 15 minute walk to the next restaurant which served an appetizer and Mojito (portions of appetizers served depend on size of group and match the size of group so everyone has enough of a tasting at each place) then went to an American restaurant where they have a choice of non-alcoholic drink and their famous bruschetta then lastly a French restaurant where three courses of samplings were served along with a little tasting of wine. One other thing to add is you curtailed your review not to include most of what was provided on your Food Tour including a surprise your group received at the end of the tour as a thank you for coming on the Food Tour and we are disappointed you would do this to a great standing company. We are disappointed that you didn't have a good experience and you thought it was a different type of tour. If you had read thoroughly about our Food Tours prior to purchasing your Groupon you might have known what to expect better. We also believe you should reconsider your rating on us. Others have loved our tours and previous experiences should be noted.

We spent our Saturday afternoon in Miami Beach participating in the Food Tours of Miami. We started our tour at a stop for gelato. Our next stop was at Tap Tap the only Haitian restaurant in Miami Beach, if not for this tour we would have missed this wonderful surprise. This stop ended up being our favorite spot. The portions are generous at each stop and the guide,Steve, was nice and informative. My only suggestions is to limit the amount of time is spent at each stop, it was too long. I would recommend this tour to others.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and your suggestion. I think their might be an error with the star rating you gave us but just in case not we would like you and other readers seeing this review to know we were only at each stop 20-30 minutes. In addition to this it takes apprx 5-15 minutes to walk to each place from another not to mention you do get some history about the area as we walk. It is advertised as such as well on our website. The only way to properly give enough time to have a tasting at each restaurant is to give each person enough time to eat and enjoy what they are eating without rushing through tour. With a review title "wonderful surprise" and your only comment of being negative about our food tour was you thought a 3 hour food tour was too long and wrote us down as three stars out of five we don't get it. We pride ourselves as being one of Miami Beaches best food tours and to get a review of 3 stars because you think it was too long seems detached. Please reconsider your 3 star rating because after all everyone else who has gone on our food tours agrees we give a wounderf tour. In your review you did say the guide was nice and very informative, you had never been to Tap Tap and if not for our food tour you would have missed this wonderful restaurant and would recommend tours to others. So again please consider giving us a better than average rating. Your written review doesn't match rating at all.

I was skeptical of this tour when my wife purchased, however it exceeded all of our expectations! We would have never experienced these restaurants on South Beach if it wasn't for this tour. Definitely worth the value and we will sign up again when we return to South Beach.
