Short version: We had a wonderful time, and if money isn't an issue, I highly recommend this! $80 per person felt a little steep for basically an hour-long lesson. I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 due to cost and slight disorganization.

Long version: Pros: The description and guidelines for how to sign up, where to go, and what the class entails was spot on. I felt prepared and had a good idea of what to expect. Upon arrival, we checked in, and the instructor went over expectations again. The staff was very nice and friendly, and the service was incredible. We ordered chips and guac, which was delicious! The free mojito and empanada appetizer during the dance break were also tasty.

The wristband they give you allows you to stay or re-enter the club throughout the night, and it stays open until 5 am! I'm not sure what the value is, since we didn't stay after the lesson, but that might be a huge plus for some people.

Cons: You don't have to dance with multiple people, but for those who wanted to switch partners, the instructor didn't have a good system for helping people rotate. So, there was a little chaos every time she said to rotate partners, and some people ended up not really having anyone to dance with for a song or two.
It seemed like a lot of people struggled with learning the salsa step, but the instructor only explained the steps one way, and kept going fast while people were struggling. You're going to have that with any group activity, but it would have been helpful if she would have given more than one way to remember the step, or slowed down a little bit. None of the more experienced dancers seemed concerned about moving too slowly since we knew it was a beginner class. She did offer to assist one on one, but when she came by, she basically said to keep it up, even though he wasn't getting it.

Lastly, I would recommend looking for a coupon or discount if possible (we used Go City to bundle our activities). It was definitely a good time, just a little on the pricey side.

I brought two friends, one was a bit nervous because she has always been told that she's a bad dancer. But this class helped her blossom and I saw a new confidence in her, she was thriving! I love this class and I will keep bringing my friends here. Salsa and bachata all night long!

The Salsa and Bachata class was AMAZING. I actually learned the two dances, about half of it you didn't need a partner (which was nice for the single people in our group), and half you could practice the skills you learned on your own with someone else. They made sure everyone who was interested had a partner, and it was a blast. I thought it was amazing.

But we wanted to have dinner first, the server took her time getting to us and missed an order or two, and the food didn't get out to us in time for us to eat before dancing. So we had an hour long dance class while our food sat on the table getting cold. Food was still good, but slow.

Still would definitely recommend this!

We did the salsa and bachata lessons on a Thursday. Our instructor taught bachata well and made sure everyone understood and switched rows to see him better but he seemed to hurry through salsa and no one really knew what they were doing. The mojitos were like juice and the appetizers were to share with the whole group - they were empanadas that were filled with potatoes or something... no meat. We did not have a table or anything afterwards to be able to watch the dinner show even though the lady who is in charge of the salsa told me we would. We stood and watched some of it. The shows were pretty cool, if I could go back - I’d just do the dinner show and no salsa lessons. Mangos is really not a big establishment and there were people everywhere. Be advised that the food is expensive ($15 plus) as well as drinks ($13 plus) and they charge you 20% gratuity automatically and a .25 donation to some charity.

The Salsa nightlife experience is welcoming and fun and a great activity for people visiting Miami. All guests receive entrance into the club after the lessons to dance and are able to enjoy the band from the dance floor and the shows all around. Y You booked the experience through TripAdvisor and there is no mention of dinner or a table in front of the shows at Mango's as we do not provide that service. It seems that you may have somehow confused Mangos with Salsa Mia. Dinner is not included nor a table at Mango's, but you did have a table in the Mojito room throughout the Salsa night with service and pay upon consumption for additional food and drinks ordered beyond what is provided in the experience that you booked.

The salsa class itself and the club experience after the class was awesome. However, I did not like the up sell experience. They suggested you arrive nearly a hour and a half early to try to sell you food, drinks and pictures. But aside from that the class was amazing. The instructor was nice and fun. The club experience after the class was nice as well. It was worth the money. Don’t arrive on time unless your plan to have dinner there. Overall, I loved the actual class!

Thank you so much for joining us at Salsa Mia! We also appreciate the opportunity to reply regarding the items you mentioned that are not part of the Salsa night package. We are located inside of Mango's Tropical Cafe and the restaurant is full service. Many guests choose to come early for dinner but it is entirely optional and not even mentioned in the package description. Salsa Mia makes sure to have a table ready for each guest from 7:00 pm - 10pm to relax and have a home base to enjoy throughout the experience but additional purchase of food or drink or photos is entirely optional and provided by the venue. The regular arrival and check-in time for guests coming for Salsa Mia is 7:30 to make sure we have time to meet and greet everyone and get ready for the dance lessons begin.

Overall it was a great experience and good time. The instructor Mia was awesome made learning the Bachata for the most uncoordinated person easy. The drinks were delicious! I would recommend this class with Mia she makes it fun without taking yourself too seriously.

We did feel pressured to buy alcohol and food by the waitress. Every time we said we were ok the waitress rolled her eyes. When the check came age told us the amount but never brought a receipt. Made But the host and class was amazing! We learned a ton and really enjoyed the host. She was patient and so friendly.

Lots of fun. It was definitely worth the money. The instruction was great and it was just about the right amount of time. I would recommend coming a little early to order food and a drink. They did give us a Mojito half way through, but only empanadas as an appetizer. All in all, it was a well fun program and we had a blast. I would recommend.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Salsa Mia! Very welcoming environment, full of laughter and meeting new people. So I love to dance and while vacationing here, my husband insisted that we learn to Salsa. Omg what a wonderful time!!! We can't wait to show our family those sexy dance moves!
