People watching is a great pastime in Miami's South Beach, which draws celebrities and beautiful people in skimpy swim attire to see and be seen. The wide and fine, white sand-covered beaches are popular spots for fashion photo shoots, so you're sure to see models. The area is known for its hip clubs and wild nightlife as well as numerous excellent restaurants.

We love Art Deco, so we have to make the walk on Ocean Drive. Stop by the visitor center at 10th Street and pick up the architectural guide, which gives information on all the buildings. We walked on the beach side of the drive to avoid the hassle of the sidewalk restaurants in front of the hotels. I would not... More

Most diverse place I have ever visited in my life. I stayed in mid beach and could easily walk to south beach for the excitement and atmosphere. In 4 days I met people from 19 different countries. Add the beautiful beach and it is the perfect vacation destination.

Lots of people watching and spend time having a bite at one of the restaurants. Art deco at its best!

This one of my favorite beaches in the world. Sandy, sunny, and beautiful. And the restaurants on the strip are perfect to enjoy a long lunch complete with cocktails and appetizers.

South Beach (SoBe) is a very busy, noisy fun beach, with many partygoers. Not for the faint hearted! Lots of events, most weekends there is some type of attraction or display.

Streets stink like stale booze and urine. Drunk college kids everywhere, blaring uncensored music and pushy street vendors ruin what should be a beautiful beach destination. We never made it to the beach because didn't even feel comfortable walking around. This is definitely for Spring Breakers. We spent $800 to stay 3 nights and we intentionally stayed away from the... South Beach is long, so its hard to review the entire beach. My favorite is the south end, which isn't as crowded. In general, the beach is very wide and made of soft white sand. The water is an aqua blue and green. Normally the waves aren't big. There is beach volleyball in some areas. The lifeguard towers are creative... More

I suppose if you are a 20 something that enjoys strutting around half clothed, then this might be the place for you. The manner of dress and behavior of the majority of the crowd here was quite despicable. I honestly felt fearful walking down Ocean Drive at night as there were large groups of thug like individuals behaving as if... More

If you head to Miami, South Beach really is a must see. All those stories of beautiful endless white-sandy beaches with aqua water are true! No waves so it's super peaceful and nice for a dip. Each hotel tends to have its own private strip (including the one where I stayed) so I'm not sure what access is like for... More
