It is a nice piece of History,Cold War.Miami is pan Americanism.Fidel Castro was the reason for this monument,in 1960, and many other communists were promoting anti-Americanism. Miami is much less Anglo today after these failed socialist paradises.

Located on Biscayne Boulevard, in memory of the friendly president John F. Kennedy, one of America’s most beloved presidents.
Built in 1960.
A symbol of goodwill and friendship in the form of an obelisk with a flame fueled by natural gas or so they say.
After the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, the monument was dedicated to his memory.

The Torch of Friendship on the right was dedicated by the city of Miami in 1960 to the everlasting friendship of our neighboring countries. The torch is the centerpiece of the memorial. Behind the torch are plaques representing different countries. On the farthest north end of the wall of plaques is the dedication of the memorial to the memory of John F. Kennedy, January 1964.

A nice monument to friendship, in front of Bayside Marketplace. Not worth a special trip, but do pop and see it if you are in the area.

I remember when this monument was dedicated to the Friendship with Pan American countries in 1960, and I was here when it was re-dedicated to President John F. Kenedy after his assassination in 1963. This monument hold many memories for me. It is a wonderful symbol of friendship among the people of the Americas.

Torch of Friendship in memory of the friendly President John F. Kennedy, is a good attraction but I would suggest a flame of light to be put on the torch to symbolise it an active Torch. There is no flame burning or light above the torch. Please do so to make it attractive & friendly. Thanks :)
