My brother and I came in from out of town, both seasoned shooters, the range appeared well kept. It was a good price and they do have some ammo for sale and provide 1 target. If it’s your first you’ll have to take a 30 min safety course, which is mostly common sense but at least you know everyone has to do it. Overall nice outdoor range.

Went to Trail Glades Range to break in a new rifle and scope earlier this month... The range has a mandatory safety course before any shot is fired. The safety course was a overview of the range's safety procedures... In the hopes of limiting mishaps, which is always a good thing. As long as you follow the ranges safety instructions and particularly obey the four golden rules of firearms... The likelihood of having a firearm mischance is practically nonexistent. Nevertheless, the cost of the safety course is minimal and Trail Glades Range Card that is given to you is valid for 3 years... The range provides a rifle range, hand gun range and six trap-and-skeet fields. We enjoyed the outdoor shooting with two different rifles. The range also offers a concealed weapon course to further promote firearms safety. However, I wish they offered a range further than 100 yards. We will revisit the range to continue our firearm enthusiasm and more so, to practice our Second Amendment Right.

Best place for outdoor shooting or just shooting in general. Like most other ranges, you do need a membership, but here, you are required to sit in on a range safety course (about 15-25min), before you can get your range ID card; great idea. The card is good for 3 years vs only 1 year at most places.
In addition, you pay one price, currently about $12, per person and you shoot as long as you want and you can switch between rifle shooting, pistol, trap and skeet whenever you want without paying additional fees.
The fact that it is outdoors makes it much less noisy than indoor shooting.
If you plan on taking your time to practice your shooting or dialing in new sights, bring snacks and beverages with you as they only have limited vending machines here.
The staff is really adamant about safety, which I think is great, but they are also friendly and knowledgeable.
Great place to educate children about gun safety since they allow children 10 years old and up.
On the down side, the office trailer reeks of mold/mildew/damp so if you are waiting to take a range safety course (which roughly occur every hour on the hour) you might want to consider waiting outside in the fresh air.
Otherwise, place is nice, restrooms are clean, staff is friendly, i dig it.

Very good range. Fees are reasonable. Users must pass a range course. During the week you have lots of room to spread out. Unless you do something stupid or are an idiot the ranger officers leave you alone. And there is a decent barbecue restaurant just down the road. Much preferred to an indoor range.

Horrible. I went on a Sunday where they close at 5:30pm as the website states. Well, it looks like most of the staff doesn't like to work until closing and one employee was already telling shooters LAST ROUND and it was only 4:15pm. I asked another employee at what time they closed and she said 5:15pm because they had to be out by 5:30pm on the dot. They have to change their closing time to 4:30pm which is usually the time they will make you stop shooting. FYI. I drove 1 hour to make it there. Never again.

This is the most boring range in the world. Like really? First of all you have range officers all over you, they don't have any steel targets at all, and you are only allowed to shoot 1 shot every 5 seconds. It's pretty expensive for such a lame expirence.

The Trail Glades Range is a nice outdoor shooting range run by Miami-Dade for people to learn firearms safety as well as maintain proficiency with their firearms. They have pistol & rifle ranges, shotgun / skeet ranges, and a shop where you can rent weapons to learn about firearms (operation, safety, cleaning, etc.) as well as purchase ammunition, targets, and cleaning supplies for your weapons.

We took our children and they loved it--it's a great venue in which to continue your children's education on firearm safety and operation. I was impressed with the high degree of safety with which the range is operated and how user-friendly the entire facility is. There are restrooms on-site and vending machines for snacks/drinks. I wish every city had a public shooting range facility such as this!

If you want more information about the Trail Glades Range, please visit their website (http://www.miamidade.gov/parks/trail-glades.asp) or give them a call at 305-226-1823.

Being a shooting range, it is obviously not for everyone. However, if you are in South FL and want to have a nice day at the range, Trail Glades will not disappoint!

What I like about this range is the emphasis on safety. If you don't follow the rules you get shouted at by the ROs. Have seen some bad reviews on G+ where people complain about this, and ROs "touching their guns" - but I'm OK with that - I don't want to share a range with dangerous/stupid folk - I meet enough of them on I95!. Those who don't want to follow rules tend to self-select to not be there. I'm OK with that. Think you get a better class of shooter than some of the indoor ranges I've frequented. As it's an outdoor range there's an opportunity to socialize with your fellow shooters between shooting sessions. And there's less noise than some indoor ranges. I always find it more fun than being indoors.

This is an open air gun range operated by Miami Dade Parks. It is great for both novice and experienced shooters. Position go out to 25 yds on the pistol range and 100 yds on the rifle range. Trap shooting is also available. There are strict rules about when and how guns can be handled and range monitors are constantly present. If you have never shot at the range you will need to take a rules course before shooting which takes about 15 min. The range is open 7 days a week but the hours vary so check before you go.

This morning we attended a safety guidelines & concealed weapons class. Our instructor was Carlos, he was very likable but more than that, he was very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain anything we didn’t understand. He kept us on our toes by asking us questions and encouraged participation. I learned many new things today and we also had the opportunity to handle & shoot handguns.

This was my first visit to any shooting range, and this was a great experience.
